This wine made from Lagrein, the South Tyrolean autochthonous grape variety, is a ruby to dark garnet in colour.Red wines of this vintage are elegant and harmonious. A wet summer with only a few hours of sunshine required a late harvest. This late harvest is made possible for the winery by the vineyards located in alpine regions and the cooperative system which allows the Cantina Tramin estate to procure the very best grapes from various vineyards.The result of the meticulous harvest is a high-quality Lagrein that goes beautifully with game dishes, dark meat and hard cheeses.

Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva 2020
The Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. This is a cuvée that could have been produced in the Bordeaux region. The method of ageing is also similar to that used in Bordeaux. After a meticulous harvest by hand, the grapes are fermented in large wooden casks at a temperature of 82.4 °F, leading to an intense aroma and colour, amongst other things. The ageing was carried out in small barriques for a period of 12 months. Subsequently, the wine matured for six months in large wooden casks. It was put on the market only after ageing another six months in the bottle. The special quality of the grapes, the interaction of the different grape varieties and the careful production guarantee the longevity of the Loam. This wine will be extraordinary even in ten years. The Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva is fruity and well-balanced. The intense but fine tannins are wonderfully integrated, giving the wine power, balance and an enormous depth.The Loam is a ruby red in colour. On the nose, it offers fruity, slightly astringent aromas of wild cherries, chocolate and various berries, complemented by notes of wild herbs. Each sip caresses the palate with aromas of red berries, dried fruit and subtle hints of cedar. The tannins underpin the finish with a blend of mineral and salty nuances.Enjoy the Cantina Tramin Loam with roasts with dark sauces, game or hearty grilled meat. It also goes beautifully with various blue cheeses.

The Rungg Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon is supplemented by the Cabernet Franc grape variety, giving the wine a light spice. The grapes for the Rungg from the Cantina Tramin estate come from terroirs located south of the village of Tramin. The vines grow on hilly vineyards situated about 300 metres above sea level. The soils consist of gravelly subsoils, while the topsoil contains clay and lime. The terroir gives the wine a pleasant tannin structure and elegance. To underscore the aromas, aging was carried out in barriques and larger wooden casks. The Rungg is a garnet-red in colour and has an intense bouquet of cherries, currants and dried fruit. The wine is wonderfully round on the palate, offering chocolate and light roast aromas, with a powerful, long-lasting finish. Due to its full body, the Cantina Tramin Rungg Merlot-Cabernet goes beautifully with game, roasts or ripe cheeses.
