Der The Uprising aus der Serie 19 Crimes ist jetzt auch als Weißwein erhältlich. Es handelt sich um einen 100% Chardonnay, der zu 20% in Whiskyfässern reifte. Eine wirklich außergewöhnliche und interessante Variante Wein zu veredeln. Der restliche Wein reifte in französischer und amerikanischer Eiche. Der Wein hat eine helle blassgoldene Farbe. In der Nase zeigen sich reiche Aromen von Salbei, Zitrusfrucht und torfigen Gewürzen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der 19 Crimes The Uprising Chard wunderbar rund und zugänglich. Er schmeckt nach reifem Pfirsich und Nektarine, ergänzt um eine anhaltende Vanillenote und dezenter Eiche.Wie auch die Kriminellen um 1800 in Australien, zeigen sich die Weinmacher der 19 Crimes Serie immer wieder sehr kreativ. Mit dem The Uprising Chard haben sie einen Weißwein kreiert, der sich solo leicht gekühlt genauso genießen lässt wie zu einem kräftigen Essen. Die Balance zwischen Frische und schmelziger Schwere ist hervorragend gelungen.

The wines of the "19 Crimes" line recall people convicted of at least one of nineteen crimes in Britain who were exiled to Australia instead of being sentenced to death. In many cases, those who survived the journey across the seas built a new life there, thus becoming part of a newly emerging country.The "Hard Chard Behind Bars" commemorates the courageous actions of the women who were among the exiled as well. The Chardonnay from South Australia is powerful, showing lots of character. On the nose, it offers noticeable wood aromas. The multi-layered bouquet is complemented by aromas of stone fruit and ripe fruit, along with toasted oak notes and nuances of butterscotch and honey. The golden Chardonnay is structured and creamy. Its finish is enriched by notes of butter and vanilla.

Barramundi steht für Leichtigkeit. Dieses Lebensgefühl vermittelt das australische Weingut Qualia Wines durch seine Weine. Die Trauben des reinsortigen Barramundi Sauvignon Blanc wachsen in Victoria, einer Weinregion im Südosten des Kontinents. Die Ernte findet nachts statt und die Beeren werden bei niedriger Temperatur (13-14°C) fermentiert. Hierdurch wird eine gewisse Frische erhalten. Im Anschluss der Gärung reift der Weißwein auf der Hefe, was den Sauvignon Blanc weicher macht und zusätzliche Komplexität verleiht.Im Glas zeigt sich der herrlich frische Wein in einem zitronengelb mit grünem Schimmer. In der Nase finden sich Gerüche von Apfel, Limette und tropischen Früchten. Der Geschmack ist angenehm fruchtig und erfrischend mit lebendiger Säure. Wonderfully aromatic with white peaches and honeydew melon dominating the nose with a lovely dose of green apple freshness and a touch of spicy oak in the background. Nectarines join the party on the palate with limy acidity and a lovely custard like mouth feel. The oak is very subtle and provides the texture and a touch of supportive spice. Parcels of fruit are selected from our vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale. Once they have been gently crushed, the grapes are basket pressed to softly extract the juice from the skins. 60% of the juice is partially or fully fermented in a mixture of older French and American oak to add a touch of spice and mouth feel. Once fermentation is complete the winemakers taste all batches to determine which will suit this gentle and fruity style of Chardonnay.Whether drinking on its own or with a fresh plate of seafood, salad or chicken you can’t go past this little gem.
