Escudo Rojo Chardonnay Reserva

The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is an attractive, shimmering straw yellow in the glass with vividly golden glints. The sophisticated, multi-layered bouquet offers subtle hints of white blossoms and roasted almonds, later releasing powerful, slightly exotic notes of white peach and mango, which coalesce elegantly with delicate roast aromas and fine nuances of vanilla.

Initially, this wine is round and full-bodied on the palate, with much aromatic white fruit, complemented by subtle hints of fresh vanilla. Later, it is juicy, with an elegant melt and a perfect balance between exotic fruit, gingerbread and hazelnut.

The expressive, prolonged finish is an excellent indicator of the meticulous selection of best Casablanca Valley vines. This wine shows a real explosion of blossoms, fruit and spices, leaving an intense, aromatic fullness, harmony and complexity on the palate, which is indeed the trademark of great, elegant Chardonnay wines from Chile!

The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay comes from the Casablanca Valley, Chile’s region par excellence for white vines, particularly Chardonnay. Growing in vineyards located about 80 kilometres northwest of Santiago and just 30 kilometres as the crow flies from the Pacific Ocean, the vines benefit from a mild, maritime climate without sudden temperature changes, allowing the grapes to ripen in peace and preserve their juicy fruit aromas. In comparison to the vineyards situated further to the south, the grapes from the Casablanca Valley show slightly higher acidity, giving the Chardonnay a wonderful balance of aromas, alcohol and acidity.

The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood - grilled, roasted and with creamy sauces. It also goes beautifully with lobster with freshly whipped mayonnaise, salmon or tuna carpaccio, tender veal and vegetable terrines.
