In the glass the Torres Santa Digna Carmenère Reserva presents himself in a lush cherry-red with an opulent bouquet of blackberries and black currants. Also lightly notes of eucalyptus notes and hints of tangerine in the background.

On the palate is dominated by an elegant fruit with almost sweet tannins and spicy aromas of licorice, black pepper and cloves. The maturation in French oak gives the wine additional delicate toast notes with a hint of vanilla.

An excellent companion to all aromatic-spicy meat dishes, especially with game and red meat grilled or smoked meats and game birds.

Miguel Torres Chile

Die Torres-Familie gründete das Weingut Miguel Torres Chile 1979. Die Familie kreiert in Spanien seit mehr als 140 Jahre Weine. Dass Miguel A. Torres Ende der 1970er-Jahre in Chile investierte, war eine außergewöhnlich mutige Entscheidung, und er genießt den Ruf, der wesentliche Impulsgeber für den modernen, weltweit zunehmend geschätzten chilenischen Weinbau zu sein. Nahe den Anden erwarb Torres in Maquehua ein etwa 100 Hektar großes Anbaugebiet sowie ein Kellergebäude nahe Curicó. Die Fermentierung in Edelstahltanks und der Ausbau in französischen Eichenfässern kamen mit der Torres-Familie in die chilenische Weinwelt.

Heute verfügt das Weingut Miguel Torres Chile über annähernd 400 Hektar Anbaufläche. Die sechs Lagen (Maquehua; Manso de Velasco - Curicó Valley; San Luis de Alico in San Clemente; Cordillera - Maule Valley; Empedrado, nahe Constitución und 180 km südlich von Curicó; Huerta de Maule) zeichnen sich durch ihre unterschiedlichen Terroirs aus. Auch die vielfach ausgezeichnete Linie Santa Digna ist ein Beleg der qualitätsvollen Vielfalt von Miguel Torres Chile.

Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc lend this Chilean red wine its sophistication and its powerful tannins, whereas Carmenere and Shiraz give it a fine spice, tightness and a full body. The multi-faceted bouquet unites notes of ripe blackberries, black cherries and black currants, complemented by nuances of roast aromas, coffee and pepper. Purple Angel is a selection of our best Carmenère selected from our two Estates (50% sourced from Apalta, were its sunny vineyards give elegance to the wine and 50% from our Marchigue Estate, a coastal cool weather vineyard that produces low yields naturally and provides strength, concentration and a deep, intense carmine color to it. A fantastic wine that blends both elegance and powerPurple Angel showcases the spicy touches typical of Carmenère, with ripe, gentle and soft tannins, it’s a full bodied, concentrated wine that combines red berries and dark chocolate on the mouth with alluring cigar box, blackberries and plums aromas on the noseThe wine is blended with a touch of Petit Verdot to enhance its structure, color and cellaring potential. A mouth filling wine with a very long finish, definitely a unique Carmenère!Denomination of Origin: Purple Angel is a blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot from the Colchagua Valley. Winemaking: Grapes are carefully hand picked. The clusters go through a grape by grape selection made by hand with a team of 14 people, in which only good fruit is allowed into the tank. During the 18 months of barrel aging in new French oak barrels, the wine is racked 3 times to get rid of lees, and allow some oxygen to interfere in the evolution and maturation of this wine.When the final blend is made, if the wine is totally clear, and has no microbiological pressure, there is no need for filtration or fining….so the wine goes unfiltered to the bottling process.Decant for at least an hour for better enjoyment, allowing the wine to open up.

Duas Quintas Douro Clássico Tinto - Red

Bright grenadine in colour with shades of violet.Mature aroma of forest fruit, blackberries, cherries, figs and cistus, with a floral hint. Smooth and fresh on the palate, with the length and expressive aromas characteristic of an Upper Douro wine.Handpicked grapes in 150-kilo crates, pressed, destalked and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Maceration continues for long enough to produce a wine with the desired body and structure. Following malolactic fermentation in vats, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and the rest remains in the steel vats. The wine is bottled 18 months later.Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with soups, starters and salads. Also particularly recommended with dishes of fowl: roast chicken, duck risotto and quail, and with soft cheeses.
