Churchill's Fine Tawny Port

Churchill's 10 Years Old Tawny Port
Let’s just listen to Robert Parker’s assessment of the Churchill’s 10 Years Old Tawny Port: ‘Unquestionably the finest Tawny I’ve tasted in years. What makes it profound is its complex fragrance of roasted nuts and sweet fruit. There is impeccable definition and richness, a velvety texture and a long lusty finish. It is all a Tawny should be.’ Robert Parker finally awards 94 points to the Churchill's 10 Years Old Tawny Port. The port wine is brick-red in colour with amber-coloured glints. It unites the complexity of age with a youthful freshness and acidity in perfection. The Churchill’s 10 Years Old Tawny Port consists of the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca and Tinta Francisca grape varieties. This Tawny was aged for about ten years in large oak casks. Enjoy the Churchill's 10 Years Old Tawny Port with mild, soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert or fruitcake.

Ramos Pinto Port Tawny
This Tawny port unites notes of nuts, figs and dried fruit in its bouquet, along with nuances of ripe red fruit such as cherries, plums, blackberries and raspberries. The Tawny, like the Ruby port wine, initially matured for three years in large wooden casks. Thanks to the subsequent aging in smaller wooden casks, the Tawny offers more sophisticated, finer aromas. On the palate, the wine is vivid and velvety, with a lovely spice and a dry finish. The red to amber-coloured Ramos Pinto Porto Tawny is a blend consisting of the Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão grape varieties. You’ll enjoy discovering the Tawny port wine from the venerable Ramos Pinto winery with smoked salmon, tomatoes filled with cream cheese, and melon with ham, for example. It also goes beautifully with desserts which are not too sweet, cheese variations, fresh nutshells or simply on its own as an aperitif.
