The wine has a brilliant deep garnet colour.
The nose of this wine is an interesting mix of five spice with blackberries and mulberries and a floral undertone. There s a hint of fynbos and dry herbs, which is evidence of the presence of he Mourvèdre.

The wine enters the palate with upfront bright red and black fruit. There is a fine textured mid palate where the herbal notes are evident and he wine finishes with a certain amount of freshness with a definite peppery grip. The tannins are fine textured but firm.

Das Weingut Tokara umfasst insgesamt drei Weinbaugebiete. In Stellenbosch befindet sich das erste Gut von Tokara. Hier begann die Erfolgsgeschichte des Weingutes auf den südlichen Hängen des Simonsberg. Das Gut liegt am Helshoogte Pass, nur ca. fünf Kilometer von der Stadt Stellenbosch entfernt, dem Zentrum des südafrikanischen Weinanbaus. Das Weingut bietet einen spektakulären Blick über die False Bay, Stellenbosch und den ganzen Weg bis zum Tafelberg.

Im Distrikt Elgin liegt das zweite Anbaugebiet: Highlands. Auf dem Kogelberg Mountain, mehr als 400 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel, reift vor allem Sauvignon Blanc zu einer hervorragenden Qualität heran.

Im Hemel-en-Arde-Tal, nahe dem malerischen Küstenort Hermanus schließlich befindet sich Tokaras Anbaugebiet Siberia, gelegen auf den kühlen südlichen Hängen des Babylonstoren Mountain, knapp 300 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel.

Alle drei Anbaugebiete sind geprägt von einem kühlen Klima sowie sandigen Lehmböden und tiefroten, fruchtbaren Böden. Diese außergewöhnlichen Bedingungen geben Tokara die Möglichkeit, unverwechselbare, charaktervolle Weine zu kreieren.

Geleitet wird Tokara von Richard Carstens, dem die Winemaker Meilen Mossop sowie Aidan Morton zur Seite stehen.

This blend is redolent of black currants, gooseberries and plums, complemented by a lovely spice (peppery notes) and roast aromas. The composition, consisting mainly of Shiraz (from the Stellenbosch and Paarl regions) and smaller percentages of Mourvedre (from the city of Darling) and Viognier (from the Stellenbosch False Bay), is very fruity and velvety on the palate, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long finish, characterised by notes of cherries and a subliminal spice.The Kleine Zalze Vineyard Shiraz-Mourvedre-Viognier matured for 14 months in used French oak casks. Enjoy this red wine particularly with spicy meat dishes. In his Wine Guide, John Platter had this to say about the Kleine Zalze Vineyard Shiraz-Mourvedre-Viognier: ‘Quite a personality’.

Die produzierte Menge ist in jedem Jahr stark limitiert. Die rubinrote Farbe zeigt schon die ganze Power, die in diesem Wein steckt. In der Nase finden sich reife rote Früchte, wie Schwarzkirsche und Pflaume. Begleitet von weißem Pfeffer und einem Hauch Röstaroma. Am Gaumen überzeugen schöne Kaffeenoten, Mokka und deutliche Vanille, ergänzt um schwarze Maulbeere. Der Camberley Shiraz ist von großer Struktur mit festen Tanninen, die kräftig aber wunderbar geschliffen sind. Ein voller eleganter Wein, der im Abgang sehr lange nachwirkt.Der Camberley Shiraz passt hervorragend zu dunklem Fleisch oder einem T-Bone Steak.

This wine has a deep dark inky garnet colour with a touch of red brick evident on the rim. This is an intensely complex wine with intense dark berry fruit and crème de cassis notes on the nose. There is an inky heady dark character on the nose reminiscent of dark chocolate, cardamom spice and roasted fennel bulb. Always evident on this wine and a hallmark of every vintage is the hint of Eucalyptus or mint. The palate is full and rich mirroring most of what is evident on the nose. Displaying cocoa, mocha notes ripe berry fruits and a spicy grip.
