This Cabernet from the southern hills of the Livermore Valley matured for 16 months in both new and used French and Eastern European oak casks. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the Californian Wente Vineyards estate unites smaller percentages of Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Malbec and Tempranillo to create this blend. Wente Vineyards wurde im Jahr 1883 gegründet und ist das älteste ununterbrochen bewirtschaftete Familienweingut Kaliforniens. Das 800 ha große Weingut wird heute in vierter und fünfter Generation von den Geschwistern Carolyn, Philip und Eric, sowie deren Kindern Christine und Karl Wente geführt.

Zum Weingut gehören auch ein Top-Restaurant, ein Golfplatz sowie das historische Weingut Murieta's Well. Im Park des Weingutes finden regelmäßig Konzerte namhafter Künstler wie UB 40 statt.

Nach erfolgreich abgeschlossenem Studium ist Karl Wente seit 2002 als Winemaker verantwortlich.

Der Wente Louis Mel Sauvignon Blanc, benannt nach dem französischen Einwanderer Louis Mel, ist ein frischer, fruchtiger Weißwein. Die Sauvignon Blanc Setzlinge hat Louis Mel 1870 aus Frankreich vom Chateau d'Yquem mitgebracht und in seinen Weinbergen im südlichen Livermore-Valley (USA) wo die Schotter- und Lehmböden, dem Terroir des heimatlichen Bordeaux ähneln, angepflanzt.Die Trauben von den Nachkommen dieser Reben werden bei Sonnenaufgang geerntet, leicht gepresst und kaltgestellt. Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay
Wente Vineyards Chardonnay stands for the finest creations from the Livermore Valley near the San Francisco Bay. The morning coastal fog pushed by the Pacific winds to the vineyards of the traditional winery, lets mature the Chardonnay grapes very consistently. So wonderfully balanced wines develop with a beautiful minerality and acidity.The Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay is a blend of Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. On the nose it offers invigorating aromas of apples and tropical fruits, which are wonderfully complemented by flavors of vanilla and toast. Wente Riverbank Riesling
Ein Riesling aus Kalifornien. Das ist ungewöhnlich aber nicht unmöglich wie der Wente Riverbank Riesling aus den Weinbergen in Arroyo Seco Monterey beweist. Er hat die von Natur aus schönen, blumigen und tropischen Noten eines Rieslings ist stilistisch aber voller als man es von deutschen Rieslingen kennt. In der Nase zeigt er Aromen von frischem Jasmin, Mandarinen und etwas Birne. Am Gaumen hat er eine gute Balance zwischen leichter Süße und ausreichender Säure. Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon
A „perfect” ripening season with full crop yields, and restrained sugar levels led to outstanding wines from Washington state’s Columbia Valley.Vintage delayed slightly by cool spring weather and a moderate summer, harvest began 10 days later than normal. Warm weather in August provided ideal ripening conditions for grapes across all varietals and harvest was quickly ramped up in order to obtain fruit at the optimum ripeness.Ripe grapes were destemmed and inoculated with various strains of yeast to maximize complexity. Gentle pumpovers during fermentation were used to extract colour and flavour and produce soft, supple tannins. Aged 16 months in American and French oak, 32% new.Delicious with bleu cheese, duck, beef, veal and dark chocolate.
