CELLAR TREATMENTGrown on mountain slopes, the grapes were picked at 23 - 25 °B. Fermented and matured on the lees for 9 months in a combination of new French and American small oak barrels, for added richness and flavour.TASTING NOTESThe best selling white wine on the estate, and a multiple award winner. With complex fragrance and flavours of buttered toast, caramel and citrus, and a very long, lingering finish, it has the ability to age 2 - 3 years. A powerful wine, and the most food compatible one in Bergsig's range.

Bergsig Chenin Blanc

This Chenin Blanc from South Africa has a stimulating bouquet with an abundance of lime and nuances of guava. It is fruity and fresh on the palate, complemented by a pleasant acidity with a piquant finish. The expressive white wine was aged in stainless steel tanks.Enjoy this wine made from the typical South African Chenin Blanc grape variety with fish, poultry or pasta dishes. It is an uncomplicated, invigorating taste experience from the winery in the Breede River Valley, situated between the Drakenstein and Hex River mountains.

Malolactic fermentation was completed prior to 24 months maturation in new small barrels, mainly American, small portion French.TASTING NOTESThe best selling red wine in the range. Has vanilla-spiced ripe berry and plum flavours, backed by a well-textured tannin structure. This rounded, generous wine is a traditional South African variety. Has 4+ years ageing potential. Enjoy with venison and game birds, or well-matured meat.

Bergsig Sauvignon Blanc

The bouquet of the Bergsig Sauvignon Blanc unites notes of gooseberries, paprika and fresh citrus fruit. This invigorating white wine from South Africa is aromatic on the palate, with a good structure and length and a fine minerality as well. To preserve this wine’s enormous freshness, the grapes were harvested by hand early in the morning, and the wine was subsequently aged in stainless steel tanks. The Bergsig Sauvignon Blanc is a lovely, carefree taste experience from South Africa.
