This very popular blend, consisting of Negroamaro and Primitivo, comes from the Salento peninsula, the “heel of the Italian boot”. The multi-faceted, stimulating bouquet hints at ripe dark berries, cherry jam and prunes, rounded off by fine notes of menthol, cinnamon, cloves and nuances of oak as well. On the palate, the Gran Rosso Salento Negroamaro Primitivo shows a soft, round and full body, a great balance and an impressive, prolonged, spicy finish. This very fruity red wine from Apulia is an ideal accompaniment to roasts, veal, lamb, pizza and mushroom risotto.
