Château La Fleur Pourret

Château La Fleur Pourret Grand Cru Saint-Émilion AOC
€33.90*
La Fleur Pourret 2018 is an insider tip for connoisseurs who want to enjoy a very classic and high-quality Saint-Émilion at a comparatively low price. Only around 20,000 bottles of this wine are produced each year from a vineyard covering just 4.5 hectares. It is located on the western approach to Saint-Émilion, between Cheval Blanc and Figeac. And the owners of Château Figeac, the Manoncourt family, also own La Fleur Pourret, so it is no wonder that the work here is of an exceptionally high standard. The cuvée consists of 54% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is fermented in steel and concrete tanks and matured in 90% one-year-old barrels and 10% new wood.In the exceptionally good 2018 vintage in Saint-Émilion, the fruit and velvety texture of the Merlot and the freshness and clarity of the Cabernet Franc come together and complement each other wonderfully. On the nose, a warm bouquet with notes of red fruits, berries, cherry and roasted aromas and some tobacco is impressive. Round, fleshy and creamy on the palate, with beautiful fruit and a long and convincing finish.A great Bordeaux from the right bank that is ready to drink now, but still has the potential to age for several years.
