The Glen Carlou Chardonnay is medium-bodied, fresh and stimulating on the palate, with a balanced acidity, a lovely length and an impressive finesse.The Chardonnay matured for 10 months in special Chardonnay casks, of which 30% each were new, second- and third-fill barrels. The rest of the barrels were fourth-fill casks, giving the white wine only subliminal but wonderfully harmonious notes of wood. The wine’s fruitiness remains predominant.This white wine from Paarl, South Africa, is a good accompaniment to fried scampi or mussels in white wine.

Glen Carlou Grand Classique

The Glen Carlou Grand Classique matured for 18 months in French barriques, of which about one third were new barrels. The blend, consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and smaller percentages of Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, is redolent of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate and violets and offers nuances of cedar, eucalyptus and dried peaches. On the palate, this ruby-red wine from South Africa is full-bodied, round and balanced, with fine tannins and a prolonged finish.Enjoy the Glen Carlou Grand Classique with spicy meat dishes. Glen Carlou Quartz Stone Chardonnay

This white wine was aged for more than 11 months in new French barriques. The grapes for this wine come from the Glen Carlou estate’s oldest Chardonnay vines, which were planted about 30 years ago. The Glen Carlou Quartz Stone Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of orange marmalade, lime, ripe stone fruit and candied pineapple. The white wine from the Coastal Region is full-bodied and fresh on the palate, showing very intense aromas.This wonderful creation was awarded 4 out of 5 possible stars in John Platter’s Wine Guide. The wine is characterised by its ageing in oak casks, of which 90% were new barrels, without leaving overly dominant notes of oak. You’ll enjoy discovering a Chardonnay that has a lot to offer. This Shiraz from Paarl in South Africa unites notes of red berries (raspberries, cherries), plums and Middle Eastern spices as well as nuances of cinnamon, cloves and white pepper in its bouquet. The Glen Carlou Syrah is balanced on the palate, with pleasantly structured tannins.
