This “Große Gewächs” (grand cru, literally “great growth”) from the Hermannsberg estate is a fascinating delight: it has a bouquet hinting of exotic fruit with green and yellow herbal notes and discreet nuances of honey. This wine is charming on the palate complemented by a finish with fine acidity - a Riesling wine of the highest quality. This is also due to the slopes on which the grapes for the Gut Hermannsberg GG Traiser Bastei Riesling are grown. The winery explains: “This is one of the most spectacular vineyards in the world. The Rotenfels encloses the little stage like an amphitheatre where only the Riesling puts in such an impressive performance. The crenellated formations above the vineyard gave it its name.” The massif with its huge heat reservoir looms over the vines. During the day, hot temperatures prevail, but at night it cools down drastically. This results in a spectacular wine from spectacular vineyards. The Gut Hermannsberg Riesling Steinterrassen unites a fine herbal spice and notes of stone fruit in its bouquet. This Riesling from the Nahe region is wonderfully creamy on the palate and shows an impressive, salty finish. The grapes for this lovely wine come from the steepest terraces of three major vineyards.The wine matured mainly in 600-litre oak casks and was fermented with proprietary yeast. This white wine from the Rhineland-Palatinate is dense and concentrated, yet richly sophisticated with a pronounced minerality. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to barbecue.Try this recommendation: Place rib-eye steaks on the grill, briefly grill each for three minutes at 400°C/750°F until it is crisp on the outside. Cut the steaks into slices, then season them with fleur de sel and pepper. Grilled vegetables make an ideal side dish.

This stimulating white burgundy from the Hermannsberg estate has a nose redolent of white blossoms and delicate citrus notes. Initially, the white wine from the Nahe region has an elegant sweetness and is creamy and fresh on the palate. Thanks to its volcanic minerality as well, it offers a lovely taste experience. The grapes for this wine come mainly from the Winzenheimer Berg vineyard. However, the proportion of grapes coming from the legendary Kupfergrube vineyard gives this wine its typical character.According to the winery, thousands of working hours were necessary at the beginning of the last century to turn the former copper mine and the surrounding rugged cliffs and rocky terrain into a vineyard. The south-facing terraces of the fascinating Kupfergrube vineyard produce intensively aromatic grapes from their stony soil. The dry Gut Hermannsberg white burgundy is made of grapes harvested primarily from steep slopes. It is a wonderful white wine from the Rhineland-Palatinate.
