Fruity notes of plums, blackberries and wild cherries characterise the bouquet of the Quinta do Noval Fine Ruby Port, along with spicy aromas. The multi-layered bouquet is rounded off by nuances of cinnamon, cardamom and pepper. The ruby-red port is velvety, soft and very fruity on the palate, showing a great balance and a good length.In this composition from the Douro Valley, the Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca grape varieties are predominant. The Quinta do Noval Fine White Port has an intensely fruity and fresh bouquet, offering nuances of nuts and a fine spice. This port wine is also characterised by its impressive balance of alcohol, sugar content and acidity. The port, consisting of the traditional Malvasia, Gouveio, Rabigato and Codega grape varieties, was aged for more than 24 months in large casks. Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2018

Der 2018 Vintage Port von Quinta do Noval profitiert von den sehr guten Bedingungen des Wetterverlaufs im Jahr 2018. Ausreichend Feuchtigkeit während der gesamten Wachstumsphase der Trauben und viel und intensive Sonneneinstrahlung bis in den Spätsommer ließen die Trauben voll ausreifen. Das spiegelt sich unter anderem in dem Restzuckergehalt von 100 Gramm wider. Die Fruchtaromen sind wunderbar deutlich und klar. Schöne Brombeer- und Pflaumennoten verwöhnen die Nase. Ein Hauch von Lakritz bildet das i-Tüpfelchen. Durch die 18-monatige Reife in alten Holzfässern erhielt der Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2018 ein stabiles Rückgrat mit mittlerer Struktur. Am Gaumen zeigt sich dieser Port reichhaltig und mit Gewürznoten von Vanille und Zimt. Bereits überraschend zugänglich steckt sicherlich noch viel Potenzial in ihm. Der elegante und zugleich tiefe Abgang will kaum enden. Mit dem 2018er beweist Quinta do Noval wieder einmal die außergewöhnliche Fähigkeit besondere Ports zu vinifizieren.
