This Cabernet Franc from the Raats estate has a fascinating, exceptionally multi-faceted bouquet, which unites notes of blackberries, red currants, cherries, liquorice, anise and cedar, complemented by a fine spice. The prolonged finish also offers nuances of blueberries, cinnamon and dark chocolate. This wine is the epitome of Cabernet Franc wines, showing a lovely acidity, great freshness and a lot of minerality.The Raats Cabernet Franc comes from vines in Stellenbosch that are between 18 and 25 years old. The pure varietal Cabernet Franc matured for 18 months in French oak casks, of which 25% were new barrels. The remaining 75% matured in second-, third- and fourth-fill barrels (25% each).Enjoy this red wine from South Africa with lamb, beef carpaccio or tuna sashimi.
