Der Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend ist ein Rotwein aus Südafrika, der mit nahezu 50 % vor allem von der Rebsorte Shiraz (Syrah) geprägt ist. Der hochwertige, in französischem Eichenholz ausgebaute Blend wird von Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot und Pinotage vervollständigt. Das Ergebnis ist ein Rotwein, der im Endergebnis des Jahrgangs 2021 „bewundernswert“ ist. Dieses Urteil stammt von Christine Rudman, die dem Babel Red Blend in John Platter’s Wine Guide 4 von 5 Sternen verleiht. Das intensive, komplexe Bouquet des rubinroten Weins vereint Noten von Kirschen, Brombeeren, Maulbeeren und Pflaumen. Diese Fruchtigkeit harmoniert wunderbar mit Noten von Vanille, dunkler Schokolade sowie tragenden Eichennoten. Rudman erkennt „dunkle Früchte, Tabak und herzhafte Gewürze“.Am Gaumen ist der Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend trocken und meisterhaft ausgewogen. Die Assemblage besitzt einen vollen Körper, angenehm weiche Tannine und eine dichte Struktur. Das Aromenspiel wird geprägt von saftigen, schwarzen Früchten, die wundervoll harmonieren mit Aromen von Tabak und Graphit. „Das Tanninrückgrat gibt Definition und Fokus“, urteilt Rudman. Das Finale hallt noch lange nach. Genießen Sie den Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend bei einer Trinktemperatur von 16 bis 18 Grad. Er ist ein feiner Begleiter von Wildschweinkeule, die bei niedriger Temperatur gegart wurde, oder auch zu gegrillten Lammkoteletts mit Rosmarin.

The must was allowed to ferment at controlled temperature (21 ° C) without malolactic fermentation.Tasting NotesTramin is the cradle of Gewürztraminer, and the village claims the best vineyards dedicated to the variety planted around the village the west bank of the Adige valley. Gewürztraminer has a distinctive reddish-yellow color with green hues when fully mature. The most famous vineyards are in the Tramin subzones of Söll (Sella) and Rungg (Ronchi), where the wine becomes rich and silky in texture, minerally and structured. It is an elegant wine with intense aromas and flavors of Muscat, rose, exotic spice and lychee fruit. The 2016 vintage produced premium wines in nearly the entire Bordelais region. The 2016 Greteau Médeville is impressive proof of this as well.Since 1826 and in the meantime through seven generations, members of the Médeville family have been producing wines in the Bordeaux region. The Médeville family owns an additional six estates which they operate with an organic approach, protecting the environment to the greatest extent possible, with minimal use of chemicals in its vineyards. The Gréteau Médeville estate is one of its showpieces, covering an area of only 22.24 acres.A restrained use of wood underlines the fruity and well-balanced character of this wonderful, seductive wine.The Château Greteau Médeville Bordeaux Supérieur AOP 2016 is a light, clear garnet red in colour. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of cherries, black currants and spices. It is very velvety on the palate, showing lots of fruit, notes of amarena cherries and a full body. The finish is long and fruity. The fine and already well-integrated tannins underpin the wine’s structure. We recommend decanting the wine a while before drinking it. It can already be enjoyed now but will further improve over at least five more years.This Bordeaux is a wonderful everyday wine and lovely to enjoy on its own. It is also a good accompaniment to grilled dishes, meat pies, game, duck, quails or ripe cheeses. You won’t find a better bargain for Bordeaux!

Bordeaux ist vielfältig. Es wird gerne übersehen, dass neben den großen Namen aus den weltberühmten Appellationen auch kleine Weingüter, sogenannte petits Châteaux existieren, die hervorragende Weine zu kleinen Preisen produzieren. Oftmals in Familienbesitz seit Generationen, wird hier im Schatten der berühmten Namen mit viel Herzblut und Engagement großartiger Wein hergestellt. Man muss sie nur finden, diese Weintrouvaillen.Und so stach bei einer Verkostung der Château Valentin Cotes de Blaye Bordeaux AOP 2019 heraus. Seit 1892 im Besitz der Familie Revaire, wird der Wein sehr traditionell vinifiziert. Die Gärung und Reifung erfolgt im Stahltank, wobei das Weingut seit 2019 in der Umstellung auf biologischen Anbau ist.  Der Blend besteht aus 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon und 10% Malbec.Der Château Valentin Cotes de Blaye Bordeaux AOP 2019 ist ein ungemein opulenter Rebsaft, füllig, stoffig und mit viel Druck. Würde man den Preis nicht kennen, würde man ein weitaus teureres Gewächs vermuten. Die Farbe ist ein tiefdunkles Rot. In der Nase dunkle Früchte, Schwarzkirsche, Brombeere, Tabak, Pflaumen, Veilchen und etwas Holznoten, die allerdings keinesfalls dominant wirken. Der Gaumen ist saftig und fleischig, komplex und gut strukturiert, mit deutlichen Tanninen, die aber nicht im Wege stehen, sondern bereits jetzt schon einladend samtig integriert sind. Im langen Nachhall findet sich das gesamte Aromenspektrum wieder.Wir sind überrascht, wieviel Wein fürs Geld im Château Valentin Cotes de Blaye Bordeaux AOP 2019 steckt. Bei ihm bewahrheitet sich wieder einmal das Sprichwort von den kleinen Châteaux, die man in großen Jahren - zu denen 2019 gehört - kaufen sollte.Dieser Wein wird noch von etwas Zeit im Keller profitieren und sollte vor dem Genuß mindestens eine Stunde dekantiert werden.Fast zu schade für das food-pairing, überzeugt der Château Valentin Cotes de Blaye Bordeaux AOP 2019 ebenso zu Wildgoulasch, Lamm, Gegrilltem, aber auch zu gereiftem Käse.Eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung und ein Anwärter für eine absolute Spitzenplatzierung beim Preis- Leistungsverhältnis!

Delheim Gewürztraminer offers aromas of orange blossom, Turkish Delight and litchi, backed by some zesty citrus notes. These flavours follow through on the palate.The grapes were handpicked, de-stemmed and only lightly pressed. The juice was settled overnight, then racked and inoculated with a selected yeast strain. Fermentation was done at low temperatures. The wine spent four months on the lees, after which it was lightly fined and sterile filtered.Enjoy this 100% Gewürztraminer now. It will also age well for five to six years after vintage.

In contrast to the 2014 vintage, the Delheim Grand Reserve 2015 consists of significantly higher percentages of Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which are predominant in this wine, come from three different vineyards located in the Stellenbosch region. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes grow on vineyards located on the slopes of the Klapmutskop Mountains. The vines for this wonderful cuvée are at least 10 years old, and some of them are more than 20 years old, ensuring exceptional depth and structure of the wine. To ensure optimal pre-selection, all the grapes were picked by hand.During the fermentation, the grapes were stirred three times a day to achieve maximal aroma extraction from the grapes. The whole process was carried out at controlled temperatures. After the three grape varieties were aged for 16 months, the maturity of the Merlot was decisive for the blending and therefore for the mixture of the final wine. Finally, the Delheim Grand Reserve matured for another 4 months in used 300-litre oak casks.On the nose, the brilliant, dark ruby-red wine pampers your senses with aromas of mint, cassis and truffle, rounded off by fine nuances of red berries. On the palate, the wine shows wonderful fruity notes which are preserved despite the wine’s immense fullness and power. The Delheim Grand Reserve 2015 goes beautifully with any luxurious meal and is also an ideal accompaniment to tangy cheeses.
