Eye: Opaque violet, almost black color typical of top quality Argentine Malbec.

Nose: Intense aromas recalling ripe red berries, plums, blackcurrant, black pepper with notes of candied fruit and marmalade. Subtle notes of chocolate, coffee and nuts are given by its long ageing in new French oak.

Palate: Silky palate and soft rounded tannins with notes of blackberries, spices, truffles providing aromatic complexity for an exquisite finish.

Aging: 100% French oak for 12 months and at least 12 months bottle ageing.

Food Pairing: This wine goes well with grilled red meats, meats with rich sauces, cheeses as well as chocolate based deserts.

Domaine Bousquet

Die Geschichte des Weingutes Domaine Jean Bousquet ist – zumindest in Argentinien – noch recht kurz, dafür schreibt das Weingut in Südamerika von Beginn an Erfolgskapitel. Die Familie Bousquet stammt ursprünglich aus der südfranzösischen Stadt Carcassonne und steht für eine lange und prestigereiche Tradition des Weinbaus. 1998 erwarb Jean Bousquet, immer auf der Suche nach Wegen, exzellente Weine zu kreieren, das Anbaugebiet in Tupungato, Uco Valley, am Fuße der Anden in der Region Mendoza. Auf einer Höhe von 1.200 Metern reifen auf dem zuvor unberührten Land Trauben für erlesene Weine heran, die europäische Weinbautradition und das einzigartige Terroir und Klima in Argentiniens Uco Valley vereinen.

Auf dem Weingut mit einer Fläche von 240 Hektar profitieren die Reben von Temperaturspannen, die zwischen Tag und Nacht 25 Grad betragen können, und von geringem Niederschlag, der eine sehr kontrollierte Bewässerung erlaubt – die noch dazu mit natürlichem Schmelzwasser aus den Anden erfolgt. Weine von bemerkenswerter Farbintensität, wunderbarer Fruchtigkeit, guter Struktur und einem samtigen Stil sowie einer angenehmen Säure sind das Ergebnis dieser perfekten Bedingungen.
