This red wine from the wine-growing region of Haut-Médoc offers impressively multi-layered notes of black currants, blackberries and plums. The bouquet gains further complexity with aromas of coffee, chocolate, leather and very spicy notes such as cinnamon. On the palate, this blend, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, is balanced and round, with perfectly integrated tannins. None other than Michel Rolland created the Chateau La Tour Carnet Grand Cru Classe AOC, which has a full body and a very spicy finish. The wine is a deep purple with violet tints in the glass. This Haut-Médoc matured for 16 months in barriques, of which 30% were new barrels. Rene Gabriel awards the 2015 vintage 17 points and states: ‘On the palate a lot of dark malt, here a very ripe fruit documenting. A robust skin Médoc with corners and edges. He can still grow’.
