Les Forts de Latour 2011

Château Latour ranks among the most famous wine producers in the world. Its second wine Les Forts de Latour is produced with the same precision brought to bear in the grand vin. The main differences are that the Les Forts de Latour has a higher percentage of Merlot (25-30%) and it matured in oak casks, of which 50% were new barrels.

The Les Forts de Latour 2011 is a deep, dense purple in the glass. Fruitiness and floral notes characterize its bouquet. On the palate, the wine is sumptuous and velvety, with a complex, powerful and prolonged finish. Bordeaux expert René Gabriel writes about this assemblage consisting of 61.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Cabernet Franc: “This wine has a brilliant, baroque, quite warm Cabernet bouquet hinting of coffee and dark precious wood, with an amazing depth.” Robert Parker judges: “One of the finest second wines now being made.”

Stag's Leap S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker enthuses about the S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon, describing it as offering ‘sweet tannins, a succulent, fleshy mouthfeel, beautiful concentration and texture, and a long finish result in a sumptuous, irresistible mouthful of Cabernet Sauvignon’.The S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon has a fascinatingly multi-faceted bouquet offering aromas of cocoa powder, blackberries, currants and blueberries, which harmonize perfectly with a lovely spice. On the palate, the Stag’s Leap Vineyards is opulent and concentrated, with simultaneously powerful and round tannins. Notes of black currants and sweet oak characterize its finish. The wonderfully structured tannins, the lush fruit and the pleasant minerality signal the exceptional storage capability of this Cabernet Sauvignon from California. The Stag‘s Leap Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon matured for 21 months in new French oak casks. The grapes of individual parcels of land were vinified separately and only blended at the end of the barrel ageing. The S.L.V. (Stag‘s Leap Vineyards) wines are legendary. The exemplary vintage passed without any erratic weather conditions, providing the wine-growers with exceptional grapes and resulting in the S.L.V. Napa Cellars Chardonnay
This high-quality Chardonnay from the Napa Valley is redolent of vanilla, caramel and honeydew melon, along with nuances of freshly baked apple pie. This white wine comes from coastal vineyards. It is very soft on the palate, with a balanced acidity and a rather creamy finish. The interplay of aromas recalls marshmallows roasted over a campfire. The Napa Cellars Chardonnay comes from vineyards located in the southern Napa Valley and Carneros that provide ideal conditions for the Chardonnay grapes. The fogs and cool winds from the San Francisco Bay and Marin allow the grapes to ripen longer, thus developing their special depth of aroma and crisp acidity. This white wine matured for eight months in oak casks, of which more than 90 per cent were French barrels (Almost 25% of them were new barrels.). Try the Napa Cellars Chardonnay with French soft cheeses with honey. It also goes beautifully with panna cotta with fresh berries. This wine is a genuine taste experience from California.

Bibi Graetz Colore 2018
