Thenard Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi

The Thénard Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi is redolent of strawberries and wild berries, along with elegantly spicy aromas, nuances of forest floor and a lovely minerality as well. This pure varietal Pinot Noir is powerful on the palate, with noticeable but skilfully integrated tannins and a very long finish.

This fine creation comes from the venerable Domaine Thénard estate whose origins go back to the 1870s. The Corton vineyard, a Grand Cru site located on the Côte d’Or in Burgundy, is one of the exceptional vineyards owned by the winery. The wine was aged for 18 months in oak casks and is characterised by clay and lime soils.

The ruby-red Pinot Noir is an ideal accompaniment to various cheeses, game or red meat. By the way, the winery was founded by Paul Thénard. The eminent French chemist fought against the phylloxera plague in the 19th century.

Product recommendation

Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir
The low-vigour, stony, clay-rich soil, cool maritime mesoclimate, naturally tiny yields of under 30 hl/ha and the philosophy of expressing our terroir in the wines give rise to a certain tightness, tannin line and elevated length to balance the richness and generosity of this Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir is not overtly fruity, soft and sweet and it generally shows hints of that alluring primal character along with a dark, spicy, complex primary fruit perfume.Suitable for vegans.

Cantina Andrian Pinot Noir DOC
The ruby-red Cantina Andrian Pinot Noir DOC is a wonderfully harmonious wine. Its bouquet is redolent with delicate aromas of berries, dried fruit and strawberries. The red wine from South Tyrol is supple and dry on the palate, with a vivid acidity and a long finish. The controlled fermentation of the must was carried out in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the Pinot noir matured in large oak casks and underwent natural malolactic fermentation during this time. Enjoy this Pinot noir from the Andrian winery with hearty meat dishes.
