The Delas Frères Haute Pierre Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge comes from the legendary Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine-growing region in the southern Rhône Valley. This outstanding creation made from 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah is showered with top ratings from international wine critics. 92 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and from James Suckling as well as 93 points in the Wine Spectator speak for themselves.

On the nose, Joe Czerwinski writes in Wine Advocate of almost cherry-like aromas and a veritable explosion of fruit, with subtle herbal aromas emerging over time. Suckling recognizes an attractive bouquet, with notes of plums, black cherries and earthy tones. The Wine Spectator writes: "Seductive with an array of dark plum, raspberry and boysenberry compote aromas." There is also a hint of juniper.

On the palate, the deep garnet-red French wine is powerful, with generous, wonderfully integrated tannins, a beautiful "tension between maturity and acidity" (Czerwinski) and an intensely aromatic finish, characterized by licorice tones.

This Côtes du Rhône Villages AOP is an extraordinary wine. The team of the La Nerthe winery, which has been based in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region since the 14th century, maintains the Les Cassagnes vineyards located in Sérignan-du-Comtat, France. The grapes for this wine are selected exclusively from the best parcels of land. The soil consists of sand, clay and limestone, providing natural filtration and creating full-bodied, well-balanced wines.The grapes come from vines with an average age of more than 40 years. This cuvée consists mainly of Grenache Noir, Shiraz and a smaller percentage of Mourvèdre.The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a further selection process upon arrival in the cellar. Subsequently, the grape varieties are fermented separately for a period of three weeks. The extraction is carried out very carefully in order to maintain the fruit aromas and to preserve a good tannin structure. Before bottling, the wine finally matures for 9 months in stainless steel tanks, remaining in contact with the yeast.The Les Cassagnes AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Rouge is a deep, dark red in colour. On the palate, it impresses wine connoisseurs with an appealing body that’s not overly full, showing a very silky texture. Aromas of red berries, wonderful notes recalling perfume and sweet nuances of spices lead to an exquisite, prolonged finish.Served at a drinking temperature of 14-16°C (57.2-60.8 °F), the Les Cassagnes goes beautifully with grilled lamb or beef, pasta Bolognese or ratatouille. We recommend enjoying this wine with ‘Tian’, a vegetable gratin speciality from the Provence region, made of tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, thyme and oregano. Simply delicious!

This wine shows an excellent fullness, majestic aromas and an outstanding balance among all components, giving it ideal potential for prolonged ageing. The Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a sensational masterpiece of taste and fragrance. The Amarone has an impressive elegance, ripe fruit and an inviting bouquet. There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle.
