Aus dem legendären Weinbaugebiet Châteauneuf-du-Pape im südlichen Rhônetal stammt der Delas Frères Haute Pierre Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge. Diese herausragende Kreation aus 90% Grenache und 10% Syrah wird von der internationalen Weinkritik mit Spitzenbewertungen überhäuft. 92 Punkte in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate und von James Suckling sowie 93 Punkte im Wine Spectator sprechen eine deutliche Sprache.

Zum Bouquet schreibt Joe Czerwinski im Wine-Advocate von fast kirschartigen Aromen und einer wahren Fruchtexplosion, dazu kämen mit der Zeit subtile Kräuteraromen. Suckling erkennt ein anziehendes Bouquet, mit Noten von Pflaumen, Schwarzkirschen und erdigen Tönen. Der Wine Spectator wiederum schreibt: „Verführerisch mit einer Reihe an Aromen von dunklen Pflaumen, Himbeeren und Boysenbeerkompott.“ Dazu käme noch ein Hauch von Wacholder.

Am Gaumen ist der tiefgranatrote französische Wein kraftvoll, mit großzügigen, wunderbar eingebundenen Tanninen, einer schönen „Spannung zwischen reife und Säure“ (Czerwinski) und einem intensiv aromatischen Finale, geprägt von Lakritztönen.

This Côtes du Rhône Villages AOP is an extraordinary wine. The team of the La Nerthe winery, which has been based in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region since the 14th century, maintains the Les Cassagnes vineyards located in Sérignan-du-Comtat, France. The grapes for this wine are selected exclusively from the best parcels of land. The soil consists of sand, clay and limestone, providing natural filtration and creating full-bodied, well-balanced wines.The grapes come from vines with an average age of more than 40 years. This cuvée consists mainly of Grenache Noir, Shiraz and a smaller percentage of Mourvèdre.The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a further selection process upon arrival in the cellar. Subsequently, the grape varieties are fermented separately for a period of three weeks. The extraction is carried out very carefully in order to maintain the fruit aromas and to preserve a good tannin structure. Before bottling, the wine finally matures for 9 months in stainless steel tanks, remaining in contact with the yeast.The Les Cassagnes AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Rouge is a deep, dark red in colour. On the palate, it impresses wine connoisseurs with an appealing body that’s not overly full, showing a very silky texture. Aromas of red berries, wonderful notes recalling perfume and sweet nuances of spices lead to an exquisite, prolonged finish.Served at a drinking temperature of 14-16°C (57.2-60.8 °F), the Les Cassagnes goes beautifully with grilled lamb or beef, pasta Bolognese or ratatouille. We recommend enjoying this wine with ‘Tian’, a vegetable gratin speciality from the Provence region, made of tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, thyme and oregano. Simply delicious!

There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young.
