The wine-growing region of Côte-Rôtie is located in the northernmost Rhone valley in France, covering a total of three sub-areas that extend across the municipalities of Ampuis, Saint-Cyr-sur-le-Rhône and Tupin. Within these areas, there are several single vineyards such as Côte Brune and Côte Blonde, which produce the grapes for the Vidal-Fleury Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde Rouge.

This red wine is a dark red in colour with crimson glints. Its wonderfully intense and extremely complex bouquet offers notes of fresh fruit, violets, black olives and white pepper. The Côte Brune single vineyard is characterised by ferrous clay soils and the Côte Blonde vineyard by limestone, giving the wine a soft minerality.

On the palate, the dry Côte-Rôtie offers notes of black currants and various spices. It is a rich, straightforward and aromatic wine, showing a unique structure and full freshness. This powerful, multi-layered and long-lasting wine has great potential and will delight you for many years to come. We recommend decanting the wine at least two hours before drinking it.

The Shiraz grapes give the Vidal-Fleury Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde Rouge lots of structure, making it an excellent accompaniment to strongly seasoned grilled meat, lamb or sheep’s cheese. Chilled to 18 °C (64.4 °F), it also goes beautifully with roast wild boar or wild game stew.

The Crozes-Hermitage appellation is located in the northern part of the Rhone valley. All red wines produced in this appellation are based on the Shiraz grape variety, the only red variety authorised here.The Vidal-Fleury Crozes-Hermitage is a dark red in colour. Its bouquet is redolent of black currants, violets and plums, complemented by notes of pepper and roast aromas. The soil of the vineyards in the Crozes-Hermitage area consists mainly of granite, giving the wine its lovely minerality. This red wine is soft and fresh on the palate, showing lots of black fruit. The finish is round and long-lasting. The 18 months of ageing in wooden casks and in the bottle gives the wine its high ageing potential, so that it will remain a delight over the next 10 years.The Crozes-Hermitage from the Vidal-Fleury winery goes beautifully with grilled dishes, game and pork cutlets with herbes de Provence. It is also a good accompaniment to medium-strong cheeses such as Morbier or aged feta, for example.

The Vidal-Fleury G.S.M. is a cuvée consisting of the Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre grape varieties, that are typical of the Rhône region. This French red has an intense colour and a forthright, fresh aroma of red fruit. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, with lovely herbal notes. The dry red wine tastes of red berries such as raspberries or blackberries, showing wonderfully fine tannins. All in all, the Vidal-Fleury G.S.M. is fresh and supple, with a good length.It is perfect for any occasion and goes beautifully with grilled vegetables, tangy cheeses, pasta or any fine meat dish. We recommend enjoying it at a drinking temperature of 17 °C (62.6 °F).

Wir vom Vineshop24 sind immer auf der Suche nach etwas Spannenden und Neuem aus der wunderbaren Weinwelt. Dabei wurden wir aufmerksam auf diese Spezialität aus Fronsac im Bordelais, einem trockenen Wein "Sans Sulfites", also ohne zugesetztem Schwefel, mit einem niedlichen Jungen auf einem Traktor auf dem Label. Der kleine Lausbub ist Raphaël, die sechste Generation der Coudert Familie, der das Château Castagnac gehört und der so gerne im Weinberg - natürlich auf dem Schlepper - mithilft. Der Château Castagnac Raphaël Merlot wurde daher nach ihm benannt.Das Château Castagnac arbeitet derzeit daran, das Label HEV (high environmental value) zu erhalten, eine Auszeichnung für nachhaltigen französischen Weinbau. Bei der Herstellung wird zudem auf den Einsatz von Sulfiten verzichtet. Somit fällt bei diesem sulfitarmen Rotwein auch der Histaminwert gering aus.100% Merlot, aus im Schnitt 25 Jahre alten Reben, wird die Fermentation nur mit Hilfe natürlicher Hefen durchgeführt. Es erfolgt auch nur eine sehr vorsichtige Filterung vor der Abfüllung.Der Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël ist genauso sympathisch wie der kleine Raphaël selbst. Fruchtig, viel Merlot-typische Pflaumenaromen, dunkle Beeren, Haselnuss und etwas Olive vereinen sich zu einem spannenden und äußerst runden Trinkvergnügen.James Suckling ist begeistert von diesem Wein aus Bordeaux und benotet den Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël mit 91 Punkten.

Der The Uprising aus der Serie 19 Crimes ist jetzt auch als Weißwein erhältlich. Es handelt sich um einen 100% Chardonnay, der zu 20% in Whiskyfässern reifte. Eine wirklich außergewöhnliche und interessante Variante Wein zu veredeln. Der restliche Wein reifte in französischer und amerikanischer Eiche. Der Wein hat eine helle blassgoldene Farbe. In der Nase zeigen sich reiche Aromen von Salbei, Zitrusfrucht und torfigen Gewürzen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der 19 Crimes The Uprising Chard wunderbar rund und zugänglich. Er schmeckt nach reifem Pfirsich und Nektarine, ergänzt um eine anhaltende Vanillenote und dezenter Eiche.Wie auch die Kriminellen um 1800 in Australien, zeigen sich die Weinmacher der 19 Crimes Serie immer wieder sehr kreativ. Mit dem The Uprising Chard haben sie einen Weißwein kreiert, der sich solo leicht gekühlt genauso genießen lässt wie zu einem kräftigen Essen. Die Balance zwischen Frische und schmelziger Schwere ist hervorragend gelungen.

‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar.The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.

The Vidal-Fleury Condrieu Blanc comes from the eponymous wine-growing region in France, located on the northern Rhône. Only the Viognier grape variety is cultivated in this appellation. This white wine is a pale yellow in the glass. It is fresh and fruity on the nose, offering floral notes, along with aromas of hazelnuts and almonds. It is extremely complex and vivid on the palate, tasting of peaches and apricots. This wine is very aromatic, showing a good length and a restrained acidity. Its finish is characterised by a light sweetness.The Vidal-Fleury Condrieu Blanc is a rich wine, lovely to enjoy on its own as an aperitif. The Condrieu goes also beautifully with slightly spicy meals such as scampi with curry or Indian Cuisine. It is a perfect accompaniment to fine fish like turbot or monkfish as well.
