Notes of peach, grapefruit and papaya offers the Ulisse Pecorino Terre di Chieti IGT. Also with subliminal aromas of pineapple and salty nuances. On the palate, with nice, lively acidity, clear structure and minerality.

Pecorino, the autochthonous white grape-variety from central Italy, makes this wine a special taste experience. With the range Ulisse the winery Tenuta Ulisse from Abruzzo deliberately focuses on regional grape-varieties.

The straw-colored wine with greenish reflections was vinificated in stainless steel tanks. Especially delicious with grilled fish, risotto and cheese.

Das Familien-Weingut Tenuta Ulisse liegt in Italien zwischen den Bergen der Abruzzen und dem Mittelmeer. Die hügelige Landschaft bei dem kleinen Dörfchen 'Crecchio' ist die Heimat der Familie Ulisse. Die beiden Brüder Antonio und Luigi Ulisse setzen bereits in dritter Generation die Familientradition fort, die Anfang des 20 Jahrhunderts begann, als hier die ersten Rebstöcke gepflanzt wurden. Heute erstrecken sich die Weinberge von Tenuta Ulisse auf 55 Hektar. Das Weingut verfügt über großartige und unterschiedliche Terroirs und setzt hauptsächlich auf autochthone mittelitalienische Rebsorten. So finden die besonderen Abruzzen-Rebsorten Passerina, Pecorino, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo und Montepulciano d'Abruzzo hier optimale Standortbedingungen vor.

Besonders sind auch die Etiketten und das Logo des Weingutes. Darauf ist ein Pferd zu sehen, welches Freiheit, Aufbruch und Bewegung symbolisiert und den Innovationsdrang von Antonio und Luigi Ulisse beschreibt. Die bunten Etiketten wurden von Gino Masciarelli ausschließlich für die Ulisse-Weine entworfen.

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. This is the “classical” central area of d.o.c. ”Primitivo di Manduria” Harvest period: Third decade of August, first decade of September Vinification: Hand-harvested in small baskets. Maceration: 18 days with selected autochtonous yeasts.
