Der Epicuro Susumaniello Puglia IGP ist ein außergewöhnlicher Rotwein aus Apulien, der die seltene und autochthone Rebsorte Susumaniello in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Diese Rebsorte, die fast in Vergessenheit geraten war, erlebt derzeit eine Renaissance und bringt kraftvolle, doch elegante Weine hervor.

Nach der sorgfältigen Lese wird der Wein in Edelstahltanks ausgebaut, um die intensiven Fruchtaromen und die natürliche Frische der Rebsorte optimal zu bewahren.
Das facettenreiche Bouquet vereint intensive Noten von dunkler Beerenfrucht (Blaubeeren, Pflaumen, Kirschen) mit blumigen Noten von Veilchen, Tabak- und Gewürznoten (Pfeffer, Thymian, Oregano). Am Gaumen ist der trockene Epicuro Susumaniello Puglia frisch und saftig, mit dichter Fruchtbetontheit, eleganter Fruchtsäure und geschmeidiger Eleganz sowie einem langen Nachhall.

Die Weinkellerei Femar Vini in der Nähe von Rom gibt es seit 1950. Sie entstand aus der Fusion mehrerer kleiner Weinkellereien der Castelli Romani. Femar Vini besitzt ungefähr 40 Hektar eigene Weinberge, verarbeitet aber auch Trauben von weiteren Winzern aus ganz Italien, die den Qualitätsansprüchen von Femar Vini entsprechen. Die hohe Qualität spiegelt sich unter anderem in den bekannten Epicuro-Weinen wider, die nach dem griechischen Philosophen Epikur (341–271 v. Chr.) benannt sind. Die Weinkellerei arbeitet heute mit modernsten Anlagen für eine schonende Verarbeitung des Lesegutes, die Basis für die kontinuierlich hohen Qualitäten der Epicuro-Weine.
