Accademia dei Racemi ist ein Zusammenschluss von sieben apulischen Winzern, die sich der traditionellen Weinproduktion verschrieben hat. Sie wird geleitet von Gregory Perrucci und seiner Frau Elisabetta Gorla. Die Vertriebsgenossenschaft setzt vorwiegend auf Primitivo, der sowohl allein als auch als Blend mit anderen Rebsorten in den Kreationen von Accademia dei Racemi seine ganze Vielfalt entwickelt. Es werden verschiedene Primitivo-Weine auf den Markt gebracht, die von unterschiedlichen Terroirs und ganz speziellen Ausbauformen geprägt sind. Zusätzlich arbeitet Accademia dei Racemi auch ganz besonders mit seltenen einheimischen Rebsorten, die vom Aussterben bedroht sind.

Der Name Fellini leitet sich übrigens von einem archäologischen Gebiet ab, nicht weit entfernt von den berühmten Stränden von Manduria, an denen sich die Überreste einer antiken Stadt namens Felline befinden. Dort soll auch Simon Petrus auf seiner Reise nach Rom gestrandet sein, bevor er erster Bischof von Antiochien und Gründer der katholischen Gemeinde in Rom wurde.
