Peter Zemmer

Seit 1928, dem Gründungsjahr des Familienweingutes, gehört der Weinbau zur Geschichte der Familie Zemmer. Die Begeisterung zum Wein ist auch bei der dritten Generation fest verankert und spiegelt sich heute in erstklassigen Produkten wider. Das Weingut Peter Zemmer liegt im Südtiroler Unterland in der Mitte des Tales des Flusses Etsch. Der Ort Kurtinig an der Südtiroler Weinstraße zählt heute mit seinen rund 600 Einwohnern zu den kleinsten Gemeinden Südtirols. Er ist die Heimat des Weingutes Peter Zemmer und liegt an der südlichen Landesgrenze zum Trentino.

Das Klima ist in den Hochlagen alpin aber gleichzeitig in den Tälern oft mediterran. Die verschiedenen Lagen, die unterschiedlichen Böden und die vielen Mikroklimas ermöglichen bei Peter Zemmer den Anbau eines sehr breiten Spektrums an Rebsorten. Durch die sorgfältige und schonende Nutzung dieser einmaligen Terroirs reifen Trauben heran, die einzigartige Weine hervorbringen. Neben der einheimischen Rebsorte Lagrein setzt Peter Zemmer beim Anbau auch auf die Rebsorten Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay und Pinot Grigio sowie Weißburgunder.

Catena Chardonnay

The Catena Chardonnay combines the unique expressions of three high altitude vineyard sites. The La Piramide vineyard offers rich pineapple, passion fruit flavors and aromas with a touch of sweet honey with a rich mouthfeel. The Domingo vineyard lends notes of citrus fruit with floral notes and excellent acidity. The Adrianna vineyard contributes green apple, pear and fig flavors with a strong mineral component and vibrant acidity.The wine shows a light yellow color with marked greenish tones. The aromas show tropical fruit flavors with touches of apple and pear as well as hints of cinnamon and minerals. The mouthfeel is full yet clean, with fresh, crisp acidity.

The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is an attractive, shimmering straw yellow in the glass with vividly golden glints. Growing in vineyards located about 80 kilometres northwest of Santiago and just 30 kilometres as the crow flies from the Pacific Ocean, the vines benefit from a mild, maritime climate without sudden temperature changes, allowing the grapes to ripen in peace and preserve their juicy fruit aromas. In comparison to the vineyards situated further to the south, the grapes from the Casablanca Valley show slightly higher acidity, giving the Chardonnay a wonderful balance of aromas, alcohol and acidity.The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood - grilled, roasted and with creamy sauces. Langmeil 'Orphan Bank' Shiraz

Der Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz ist einer der besten Rotweine von dem Weingut Langmeil. Dieser trockene Wein ist perfekt geeignet für Feinschmecker, die möglichst wenig Süße im Wein schmecken wollen. Im Bouquet des australischen Rotweines finden sich Noten von Brombeeren, Heidelbeeren und Pflaumen kombiniert mit Vanille, Bitterschokolade und Zimt. Im Glas zeigt der besondere Wein eine leicht dunkle rote Farbe. Wenn er erstmal am Gaumen angelangt ist, entfaltet dieser Wein seine fruchtige Seite. Im Abgang wirkt dieser Shiraz würzig.Die Herkunft des Weines liegt in Australien, in der Region Barossa. The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay and gravel soils between 240 and 500 meters in the areas Ora, Tramin and Egna.The grapes were gently pressed immediately following harvest. Peter Zemmer Lagrein Raut

"Raut" refers to a particular vineyard of the winery Peter Zemmer. In the South Tyrolean “Unterland”, a part of the Adige Valley in South Tyrol, grow the Lagrein grapes for this wine. Lagrein Raut has a ruby red color. On the nose, the wine offers intense, complex, spicy flavors. There is also a fresh aroma of wild berries and violets. On the palate the wine from the autochthonous South Tyrolean variety Lagrein is very harmonious.
