"Raut" refers to a particular vineyard of the winery Peter Zemmer. In the South Tyrolean “Unterland”, a part of the Adige Valley in South Tyrol, grow the Lagrein grapes for this wine. Lagrein Raut has a ruby red color. On the nose, the wine offers intense, complex, spicy flavors. There is also a fresh aroma of wild berries and violets. On the palate the wine from the autochthonous South Tyrolean variety Lagrein is very harmonious. With round tannins and a delicate spicy finish.

70% of this Lagrein matured over several months in large oak barrels. The rest matured in barriques (two to three years old).

Seit 1928, dem Gründungsjahr des Familienweingutes, gehört der Weinbau zur Geschichte der Familie Zemmer. Die Begeisterung zum Wein ist auch bei der dritten Generation fest verankert und spiegelt sich heute in erstklassigen Produkten wider. Das Weingut Peter Zemmer liegt im Südtiroler Unterland in der Mitte des Tales des Flusses Etsch. Der Ort Kurtinig an der Südtiroler Weinstraße zählt heute mit seinen rund 600 Einwohnern zu den kleinsten Gemeinden Südtirols. Er ist die Heimat des Weingutes Peter Zemmer und liegt an der südlichen Landesgrenze zum Trentino.

Das Klima ist in den Hochlagen alpin aber gleichzeitig in den Tälern oft mediterran. Die verschiedenen Lagen, die unterschiedlichen Böden und die vielen Mikroklimas ermöglichen bei Peter Zemmer den Anbau eines sehr breiten Spektrums an Rebsorten. Durch die sorgfältige und schonende Nutzung dieser einmaligen Terroirs reifen Trauben heran, die einzigartige Weine hervorbringen. Neben der einheimischen Rebsorte Lagrein setzt Peter Zemmer beim Anbau auch auf die Rebsorten Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay und Pinot Grigio sowie Weißburgunder.

Lagrein DOC in matured 7-10 month in large wooden barrels. The 100% Lagrein from the winery Cantina Terlan has a dark garnet color. On the nose, intensely fruity. Terlan Gries Lagrein Riserva DOC
The 100% Lagrein from the Alto Adige winery Cantina Terlan has a strong ruby to garnet color with violet hues. On the nose, earthy and mineral notes that harmonize beautifully with fruity flavors. In addition notes of sour cherries and plum jam. On the palate: peaty and spicy yet fruity. Notes of bitter chocolate and violet contribute to the complex richness and complexity of the wine. The Gries Lagrein Riserva DOC comes from a classic Lagrein location in Bolzano. The wine was aged for 12 months partly in large oak barrels (70%) and partly in barriques (30%). For the maturation in the oak barrels one third new barrels were used. Enjoy the wine with red meat in spicy sauce or braised veal cheeks with root vegetables.
