The 100% Lagrein from the Alto Adige winery Cantina Terlan has a strong ruby to garnet color with violet hues. On the nose, earthy and mineral notes that harmonize beautifully with fruity flavors. In addition notes of sour cherries and plum jam. On the palate: peaty and spicy yet fruity. Notes of bitter chocolate and violet contribute to the complex richness and complexity of the wine. The Gries Lagrein Riserva DOC comes from a classic Lagrein location in Bolzano. The wine was aged for 12 months partly in large oak barrels (70%) and partly in barriques (30%). For the maturation in the oak barrels one third new barrels were used. Enjoy the wine with red meat in spicy sauce or braised veal cheeks with root vegetables.

Kellerei Terlan

Mitten im Weinbaugebiet Terlan wurde im Jahr 1893 eine der ersten Genossenschaften Südtirols gegründet. Damals setzten sich 24 Weinbauern das Ziel der gemeinsamen Produktion und Absatzförderung. Heute gehört die Kellerei Terlan mit ca. 100 Mitgliedern, einer Anbaufläche von 150 ha und einer Gesamtproduktion von 1,2 Mio. Flaschen zu den kleineren Betrieben des Landes. Die überschaubare Größe trägt wesentlich zur Qualitätssicherung bei. Unter der sachkundigen Kontrolle des Önologen Rudi Kofler reifen im modernen Kellereitbetrieb 70% Weiß- und 30% Rotweine, die allesamt die DOC Klassifizierung haben.

Terlaner Weine haben die Besonderheiten von Klima und Boden in sich gespeichert. Bei ihrem sorgsamen Ausbau wird größter Wert auf die Erhaltung und Betonung des Gebietstyps gelegt. Das Ergebnis sind unverwechselbare, sehr eigenwillige Weine, die sich durch Frucht und Rasse, aber auch durch bestechende Dichte und Langlebigkeit auszeichnen.

Lagrein DOC in matured 7-10 month in large wooden barrels. The 100% Lagrein from the winery Cantina Terlan has a dark garnet color. On the nose, intensely fruity. Notes of dried cranberries and sour cherry are complemented by a floral scent of lilac. Nuances of chocolate complete the complex bouquet. On the palate, juicy and harmonious, with a fine texture and delicate tannins. This full-bodied wine from South Tyrol is ideal to braised lamb shank, beef roulades with mashed potatoes or braised venison. Also with hard cheeses, like a ripened Parmesan, a delight.

The winery Cantina Terlan Lagrein Rosé offers a typical, characterful wine of South Tyrol, which is 100% based on the autochthonous grape variety Lagrein. This 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc is bright yellow with a green shimmer. On the nose, this creation from South Tyrol offers fruity aromas of apricot, tangerine and passion fruit. Terlaner Classico DOC

The Terlaner is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. It is the historical Cuvée produced since the founding of the winery (1893!). The wine sparkles straw yellow with green hues. On the nose it offers notes of green apple and white peach. They are typical of the classic Terlan. Add to that, even subtle nuances of lemon and mint.On the palate, the white wine is invogorating but very soft. He also impresses with its freshness, minerality and great length.The grapes for the wine were picked and selected by hand. Stations of the winemaking-process: slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel; storage and ripening for 5-7 months on the lees in stainless steel tanks; finally, the assemblage a month before bottling.At about halfway between the cities of Merano and Bolzano is the wine-village of Terlan. The history of the South Tyrolean Cantina Terlano dates back to 1893. Over this long period Cantina Terlan has built an excellent reputation. The Wine Advocate stated in October 2014: "Cantina Terlano is one of the most prolific wineries in Italy and among the oldest in the region. It offers an outstanding line of wines that embrace multiple styles and philosophies. The Merlot DOC Riserva Siebeneich offers a complex bouquet, which combines notes of dried plums, cranberries, mint and eucalyptus, complemented by hints of black pepper and subtle oak notes.
