Der Castellare di Castellina I Sodi di San Niccolo ist ein beeindruckender italienischer Rotwein aus der Toskana, der von der renommierten Weinkellerei Castellare di Castellina hergestellt wird. Es handelt sich um einen sogenannten Supertoscan, der aus den einheimischen Rebsorten Sangiovese und Malvasia Nero vinifiziert wird. Der Name Sodi leitet sich ab von einem Wort das toskanische Bauern verwenden um Böden zu beschreiben, die zu steil sind um sie mit Maschinen zu bearbeiten. Es wird also alles von Hand bearbeitet. San Niccolo hingegen heißt eine Kirche, die sich auf dem Grundstück des Weingutes befindet.

Der I Sodi di San Niccolo präsentiert sich mit einer tiefroten Farbe und einem intensiven Bouquet von reifen dunklen Früchten wie Kirschen, schwarzen Johannisbeeren und Pflaumen. Begleitet werden diese Aromen von Noten von Gewürzen, Zedernholz und Tabak, die dem Wein eine zusätzliche Komplexität verleihen. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der I Sodi di San Niccolo kraftvoll und elegant zugleich. Er ist vollmundig mit süßen und seidigen Tanninen und einer ausgewogenen Säure, die dem Wein eine tolle Frische verleiht und die den Geschmack angenehm und knackig macht. Der Wein hat eine bemerkenswerte Struktur und einen langanhaltenden, edlen Abgang.

Der I Sodi San Niccolo von Castellare di Castellina wurde im Stahltank vergoren und reifte anschließend zu 2/3 in neuen und zu 1/3 in gebrauchten Barriquefässern. Nach einer 10-monatigen Flaschenreife kam er schließlich auf den Markt.

Der Castellare di Castellina I Sodi di San Niccolo ist ein exzellenter Begleiter zu gehobenen Gerichten. Er schmeckt hervorragend zu gegrilltem Fleisch, Wildgerichten, gereiftem Käse und herzhaften Pastagerichten.

In this quality class, it is almost a bargain from Castello di Fonterutoli, located around 20 kilometers north of Siena.The Concerto Di Fonterutoli is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The bouquet of this Italian red wine is exceptionally multifaceted. "An extremely aromatic red wine," writes James Suckling, who awards it 96 points. After opening the bottle, you can look forward to the scent of blackcurrants, dark plums and ripe cherries. These notes harmonize perfectly with the scent of herbs, earthy tones and a beautiful spiciness (white pepper) as well as nuances of leather and a fine minerality.Dry and powerful on the palate, with a variety and depth of flavors that are not easily found a second time. "Full-bodied and yet so crisp and juicy on the palate with crushed blackberries and raspberries. Citrus-influenced acidity," says Suckling. Monica Larner, who awarded the Concerto Di Fonterutoli 94 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, writes: "There is plenty of sweet fruit on the palate, followed by beautifully integrated, dry tannins." A major contributing factor is that the grapes ripen about 500 meters above sea level on chalky, stony soils. The harvest yields are deliberately severely limited. The Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino is aged for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by another 18 months in the bottle.A superb classic of Italian winemaking. Enjoy the Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino with red meat or game dishes, preferably with mushrooms. Orma, was übersetzt "Fussabdruck" heißt, wird auf dem Weingut Sette Ponti hergestellt, auf nur 5,5 ha. Ein Wein, der auf dem Weg zum "Super-Tuscan" ist, liegt sein Rebgarten nämlich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Nachbarn Ornellaia und Sassicaia. Auch die Qualität zielt in diese Richtung, nur, dass dieser Wein - zumindest noch im Moment - einen Bruchteil seiner Konkurrenten aus der Toscana kostet.Die Assemblage von Orma besteht aus Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon und Cabernet Franc, entspricht also dem klassischen Bild eines Bordeaux-Blends. 12 Monate reift der Orma in neuem französischen Eichenholz und wird dann noch einige weitere Monate auf der Flasche gelagert.Die Farbe ist von tiefem Rubinrot. In der Nase viel dunkle Frucht, Röstaromen, Kirsche, Pflaumen, Kräuter, Tabak und Schokolade. Zwar besitzt der Orma eine gute Struktur, das Tannin ist aber nicht erschlagend, sondern fein und geschliffen und sehr schön integriert. Der Nachklang ist atemberaubend lang. Der Orma 2019 ist dicht und fleischig, aber dennoch immer frisch und von einer mediterranen Leichtigkeit umspielt. Quasi ein Bordeaux mit dem Focus auf mehr Frucht und weniger Verkopftheit.Der Orma wird noch ein langes Leben vor sich haben, kann aber bereits gegenwärtig nach 2 Stunden Dekantierengenossen werden.
