Das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera liegt an der malerischen Küste der Nördlichen Maremma, ungefähr 100 Kilometer südwestlich von Florenz in Italien. Es befindet sich in dem kleinen aber bekannten DOC Gebiet Bolgheri. Das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera gehört zur historischen „Tenuta di Donoratico“, welche früher im Besitz der Florentiner Familie Serristori war.

Das Gebiet um das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera war bereits im frühen Mittelalter geprägt von Landwirtschaft und Bergbau. Heute ist das Gut im gemeinsamen Besitz der Brüder Corrado und Marcello Fratini. Von allen Weingütern im DOC Bolgheri Gebiet liegt Argentiera dem Meer am nächsten. Die Weinberge sind vollständig von einem grünen mediterranen Niederwald, der Macchia, umgeben.

Der verschiedenartig beschaffene Boden ist mit den Sorten Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot und Syrah bepflanzt. Diese Rebsorten nehmen im Gebiet von Bolgheri einen typischen Charakter an und erreichen außergewöhnliche Qualitätsstandards.

Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore

The Maremma is a characterful landscape in central Italy, which is also known for its excellent wines. Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore from Tenuta Argentiera has a bright ruby red color with violet hues. On the palate, notes of licorice and black currants. This generous, complex wine - consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc - is rich in tannins. It has a wonderful balance with a pleasant acidity. The finish is long lasting - with a remarkable freshness and minerality.The harvested grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate. The grapes were vinified separately; fermentation and maceration took about 25 to 30 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then transferred to 225-liter French oak barriques, where its malolactic fermentation was completetd. The further maturation was about 14 months in oak barrels and then at least another 12 months on the bottle.Tenuta Argentiera is located on the picturesque coast of the Northern Maremma, about 100 km southwest of Florence.

The Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino DOCG has a wonderfully fruity bouquet hinting of plums and ripe red fruit, complemented by a fine spice, resulting in a beautiful array of aromas. The Wine Advocate states: “The bouquet is redolent of wild berries, cherries, dried raspberries and spices.” On the palate, this wine from Tuscany is well-structured, with soft, ripe tannins which harmonize perfectly with the oak aromas stemming from the long ageing in oak casks. The wine shows a finish offering lovely nuances of sour cherries.The Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is the result of a meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand. This red wine matured for three years in Slovenian and French oak casks, and was further refined while aging for another 12 months in the bottle. Robert Parker rightly awards this exceptional creation more than 90 points.

This wine from Tuscany is a lovely crimson in colour, clear and consistent. On the nose, it is full and intense, offering fine, elegant fragrances, fruity notes of dark plums and black currants, flavoured with vanilla, pink pepper and cinnamon, complemented by hints of coffee, chocolate and balsamic nuances.The Gabbiano Alleanza IGT is intense, rich, complex, chewable and full-bodied, with wonderfully soft and tempting tannins. It has a remarkably pleasant taste, showing a good length.The wine goes beautifully with stewed meat, red meat with full, hearty sauces, game and various aged cheeses.This wine is made from grapes coming from the estate’s best vineyards, which were renewed some years ago. During the alcoholic fermentation, various methods are deployed which are intended to lead to optimal, natural extraction, prolonging the maceration on the grape skins. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in French holm oak barriques: during this long process manual batonnage (stirring of the lees in the barrel) is effected.When the process is completed, the wine is stored in the estate’s cellar and is aged in first- and second-fill barrels for a period of at least 16 to 18 months, and is further refined while aging for another 6 months in the bottle.Allenaza I.G.T.
