Veneto, a region in north-eastern Italy, is the home of the Cielo e Terra winery. Since ancient times, the fertile region has been rich in vineyards. Here grows the Glera grape, until 2009 called Prosecco, which is the basis of the Cielo e terra Prosecco Frizzante DOC. The Italian sparkling wine, also called Secoo in Germany, has a much lower carbonic acid pressure than the conventional sparkling wine and tingles (ital. frizzare) only slightly.

After the grapes are harvested, fermentation takes place in pressurised tanks at controlled temperatures. In the glass, the delicious sparkling wine presents itself in a platinum yellow. The nose is beguiled by notes of typical fruits such as apple and quince. On the palate, the fresh frizzante is lively due to its fruit acidity and convinces with a wonderful finish.

The Cielo e Terra Prosecco Frizzante DOC should be served well chilled at temperatures of 6-8°C. Frizzante is preferably served as an aperitif. In addition, this Italian sparkling wine harmonises with starters and salads.

The 3 Passo is a special organic wine. Its name implies the method of wine production. Expressed in simple terms, the wine is blended from three components. One third of the wine is made from overripe grapes that are processed using the appassimento method. The second third of the wine is naturally fermented. The pumping over (remontage) gives the wine more colour and taste. After fermentation, the last third of the wine remains in wooden casks for some time, giving the Cielo e Terra 3 Passo its special character and aromas of vanilla and spices. The wine is a deep garnet-red in colour and offers intense notes of ripe fruit on the nose. The bouquet is complemented by light wood aromas. The wine is powerful on the palate, showing rich fruit aromas and slightly notes of vanilla. The 3 Passo is soft, harmonious and full-bodied, with a complex, prolonged finish. Serve this wonderful wine from Apulia with hearty dishes such as T-bone steaks, for example.

Of all the plantet grapes in South Africa, the shiraz, or syrah, as the French call him, is without a doubt one of the most successful. It has everything to do with the ideal climate of the Cape for this grape. Warm but not too hot, with a good cooling in the afternoon, which seems a bit like the Rhone region, where this wonderful grape originated. By a short fermentation process at low temperature it gets a strong character, with delicious fruit. Two thirds of the wine then matures about six to eight months in a mix of French and American oak, which makes it well rounded and gets it some extra complexity.
