Palha-Canas Tinto VR

Palha-Cansas Tinto VR owns a medium ruby tone. This portugiese redwine, from the region Lisboa has an intense aroma of red fruits, jam and vanilla. Equally complex in the tasting, it evolutes to smooth velvety notes of red and ripe fruits, chocolate and oak ageing.
Persistent and well-balanced aftertaste with tannins that evidence the structure of the wine and its longevity.

Enjoy this wine with strong meat dishes or soft- and hard cheese.

Product recommendation

António Lopes Douro
This wine shows an intense, powerful and fruity bouquet. It is full-bodied and rich in fruit and tannins.Enjoy this Vinho Tinto with dark meat, grilled fish, hearty flummeries and spicy pizza. The Douro wine-growing region is the oldest protected region of origin in Portugal. The cultivation area was already precisely defined and designated in 1761. This bizarre landscape along the Douro River is characterized by steep slopes and terraces extending down to the river. The prevailing cultivation conditions here are extremely harsh, so that the vines grow only with difficulty on the slate and granite soils. In former times, port was almost the only thing produced here, but today, the Douro area ranks among Portugal’s top wine regions.

Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto DOC
Notes of black cherries and blossoms as well as balsamic nuances and a lovely spice characterise the bouquet of the Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto. This blend, consisting of local grape varieties such as Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional, is wonderfully fresh and vivid on the palate, showing a great balance, elegance, lots of fruit, balanced acidity and ripe, slightly sweet tannins. One fifth of the red wine matured for 12 months in used barriques made of French oak. This is an ideal starter wine to get to know the red wines from the Niepoort estate. It is a good accompaniment to vegetable casseroles, rabbit, lamb, veal, ham, tapas or medium-aged cheeses. The Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto also goes beautifully with pasta with dark sauces or a vegetarian pizza. The label depicts a scene from Wilhelm Busch’s renowned picture story ‘Hans Huckebein der Unglücksrabe’ (Hans Huckebein - The Unlucky Raven). As animal stories that contain a moral are known as a fable (‘Fabel’ in German), the Niepoort estate decided to call this wine ‘Fabelhaft’ (meaning ‘fabled’ or ‘fabulous’ in German).
