The vines for the Allesverloren Shiraz grow on soils that are heavily interspersed with slate and clay. The vineyards are situated on the south-eastern slopes of the Kastelberg Mountains in the wine-growing region of Swartland.

The wine is a deep red in the glass with a garnet-red rim. Its bouquet is redolent of plums, blackberries and black pepper, along with subtle nuances of tobacco. Due to its 15 months of ageing in small wooden casks, the Allesverloren Shiraz is full-bodied on the palate, showing spicy wood aromas. A balanced tannin structure as well as rich fruit aromas make this wine a genuine taste experience.

Enjoy the Allesverloren Shiraz with veal or hearty poultry dishes.

The Aaldering Shiraz is a wine full of elegance and complexity. It is redolent of dark cherries, raspberries, cloves and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, showing a clear structure and a long finish. This Shiraz from the Devon Valley in the Stellenbosch region was aged for more than 20 months in French oak casks, of which only 15% were new barrels, giving the Shiraz grapes as much scope as possible to develop their great elegance. The rest of the barrels were second- and third-fill oak casks.This is a wonderful Shiraz with predominantly dark and spicy notes. Another six to eight years of ageing will further enhance its qualities. Enjoy this red wine from South Africa with pies, lamb and dishes with red pepper, coriander or rosemary. ‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar.The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.

On the nose, it offers very fine nuances of coal, complemented by aromas of juicy apples and hints of lime.The Allesverloren Chenin Blanc is well-balanced, with restrained acidity.
