The Beyerskloof Traildust is a blend consisting of the Pinotage, Cinsault and Pinot Noir grape varieties. Everyone who knows that the Pinotage grape variety is a cross between Cinsault, also known as Heritage, and Pinot Noir immediately recognises the special quality of this wine.

Winemaker Anri Truter, the owner of the Beyerskloof estate, thus united the ancient grape varieties with the new Pinotage cross. One might suppose that this was a bold experiment. However, after several years of trying the estate produced a wonderful wine. The Beyerskloof Traildust is, so to speak, a tribute to the legacy of the Pinotage.

The wine has a wonderful bouquet offering aromas of black cherries, plums and flowers, accompanied by subtle hints of spice. It is a brilliant ruby-red in the glass. On the palate, the wine is juicy and fresh, with soft and balanced tannins. This is an elegant blend that is a rare find indeed.

The Beyerskloof Traildust matured for 12 months in French oak casks, giving the wine its balance and power to accompany duck or game carpaccio, for example.

Im Jahre 1988 gründete Beyers Truter, einer der bedeutendsten Winzer am Kap und damals Winemaker bei Kanonkop Estate das Weingut Beyerskloof. Auf der Suche nach einer geeigneten Farm fand er in der Region Koelenhof nahe Stellenbosch das alte Gut mit Namen Nooitgedacht. Diese Farm war bis 1895 in Besitz der Familie Beyers, welche direkte Vorfahren von Beyers Truter waren. So konnte das erworbene Grundstück folgerichtig nur einen Namen tragen: Beyerskloof

Die Philosophie von Beyerskloof besteht in dem Bestreben mit den natürlichen Ressourcen ein unvergessliches, erstklassiges Weinerlebnis zu schaffen.

Eine Verpflichtung die Beyerskloof international bekannt gemacht hat und zum Beispiel durch den Gewinn der Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Trophy für die beste Rotweincuvee der Welt beim INTERNATIONAL WINE & SPIRIT COMPETITION in London Ausdruck fand.

Beyers und sein Team von Beyerskloof treibt der ständige Wunsch, innovativ zu sein, vorausschauend zu denken und letztendlich die Nase vorn zu haben. Beyerskloof hat das Bestreben den alltäglichen Konsumenten zufrieden zu stellen.

Eine weitere Besonderheit ist die Hingabe an der Verbesserung der Pinotage Rebe zu arbeiten, so wundert es nicht, dass Beyers Truter Gründungsmitglied der Pinotage Association ist.

Simonsig Redhill Pinotage

The Redhill Pinotage from the Simonsig winery is redolent of plums, mulberries and cherries, complemented by fine, subtle nuances of vanilla. The grapes come from old, low-yield bush vines that are cultivated without wire trellis training systems. However, the vines produce grapes that are more concentrated. On the palate, the Simonsig Redhill Pinotage offers fine tannins, an elegant length and a good structure. Its finish is characterised by spicy nuances of cedar. The pure varietal Pinotage matured for 15 months in predominantly French oak casks. A small percentage of this wine was aged in American oak. Windmeul Pinotage

This Pinotage from the Coastal region in South Africa is a fine taste experience. It has a multi-faceted bouquet hinting of plums, berries and bananas, complemented by aromas of coffee and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, medium-bodied, velvety and fruity. This pure varietal Pinotage comes from vines between 14 and 18 years old. The red wine from the venerable Windmeul cooperative was aged for 12 months in second- and third-fill French oak casks. Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend

The Beyerskloof Synergy is the epitome of Cape wines. As one of the first of this type in South Africa, it unites the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot. A small percentage of Shiraz, Cinsault and Pinot Noir gives the Beyerskloof Synergy its spice and minerality. It matured for 14 months in first- (10%), second- and third-fill French oak casks.The Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend is a deep red in the glass, with a slightly shimmering ruby-red rim. Its bouquet offers extremely intense notes of black fruit. On the palate, the wine is juicy, soft and full-bodied, recalling sweet aromas of cedar, cherries and lots of black fruit. Anri Truter Besitzer und Winzer bei Beyerskloof wird längst als Mister Pinotage in Südafrika bezeichnet. Nur wenige geben sich mit einer solchen Hingabe dieser Rebsorte hin. Der Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve lagerte für 14 Monate auf französischer Eiche. 10 % des Rotweins verbrachte dabei die Reifung in neuen Fässern und der Rest in Fässern zweiter und dritter Füllung. Das gibt dem Wein eine feine Zedernholzaromatik. Die Farbe des Beyerkloof Pinotage Reserve ist tiefrot und in der Nase finden sich komplexe Aromen von Brombeeren und Pflaumen. Am Gaumen wunderbar ausbalanciert und saftig mit einer fleischigen Note. Opulent und mit feiner Textur zeigt dieser Pinotage die ganze Bandbreite der Rebsorte. Mehr Pinotage in dieser Preiskategorie geht nicht. Kombinieren Sie den Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve mit gegrilltem Fleisch oder Wild mit scharfen Saucen. Auch schön zu würzigem Curry.
