The Kleine Zalze Cellar Chardonnay has a wonderfully fruity bouquet offering notes of limey fruit curd, apple blossom and pear flavours. This pure varietal Chardonnay from South Africa is very balanced on the palate, showing a fine minerality and a stimulating acidity. The finish is long and harmonious.

After the harvest of the fully ripe grapes, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks, remaining in contact with the skin. After fermentation, the wine remained in contact with the yeast for four months, giving the Kleine Zalze Cellar Chardonnay more complexity and fullness.

Nach der Handlese werden sie gepresst und in Edelstahltanks mit ausgewählten Hefestämmen fermentiert, wobei später nur die besten Tanks verwertet werden. Zudem wurde nur ein kleiner Teil in neuen französischen Eichenfässern ausgebaut, was für eine schöne Struktur und Komplexität des Weines sorgt.Der trockene Weißwein zeigt sich im Glas leicht strohgelb mit grünlichen Reflexen. Im Bouquet finden sich Noten von Grapefruit, Limette, gelbem Apfel, Banane, Birne und einen Hauch von Vanille wieder. The grapes for the Protea Chardonnay from the Anthonij Rupert estate come from different vineyards located in the wine-growing regions of Franschhoek and Robertson. The grapes of individual parcels of land were vinified separately and partly aged in French oak casks in order to give the wine a higher complexity and structure. In the end, all grapes were blended and bottled. On the nose, the Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay offers aromas of blood orange, grapefruit and lemon.
