The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay and gravel soils between 240 and 500 meters in the areas Ora, Tramin and Egna.The grapes were gently pressed immediately following harvest. The Aaldering Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of peach, lime and mandarin. On the palate, the white wine from the Devon Valley shows a lovely fullness, a creamy juiciness and a prolonged finish as well. This pure varietal Chardonnay consists of three components: the juice delivered by the freshly harvested grapes before they are pressed (‘free run juice’), the part of the wine which was fermented in second-, third- and fourth-fill barrels as well as the must which was aged in stainless steel tanks, making this blend a special taste experience.The Aaldering Chardonnay has a good ageing potential of 5 to 7 years. Enjoy this white wine from the Aaldering estate, which has been successfully producing wines in the Stellenbosch region since 2004, with salmon, lobster, crispy duck or veal. Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay

The grapes for the Protea Chardonnay from the Anthonij Rupert estate come from different vineyards located in the wine-growing regions of Franschhoek and Robertson. The grapes of individual parcels of land were vinified separately and partly aged in French oak casks in order to give the wine a higher complexity and structure. In the end, all grapes were blended and bottled. On the nose, the Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay offers aromas of blood orange, grapefruit and lemon. On the palate as well, the wine offers lively notes of citrus fruit and noticeable juicy aromas of blood orange and grapefruit. Due to its fresh texture, the wine is wonderfully juicy and fully developed. The Protea Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to all kinds of hearty salads. It also goes beautifully with Thai cuisine.

Glen Carlou Chardonnay

This Chardonnay from South Africa has a wonderfully fruity bouquet offering aromas of apples, gooseberries and ripe pears, along with notes of lemon cream and pineapple and nuances of vanilla and butterscotch as well. The Glen Carlou Chardonnay is medium-bodied, fresh and stimulating on the palate, with a balanced acidity, a lovely length and an impressive finesse.The Chardonnay matured for 10 months in special Chardonnay casks, of which 30% each were new, second- and third-fill barrels. The rest of the barrels were fourth-fill casks, giving the white wine only subliminal but wonderfully harmonious notes of wood. The wine’s fruitiness remains predominant.This white wine from Paarl, South Africa, is a good accompaniment to fried scampi or mussels in white wine.

Meerlust Chardonnay

Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.
