The Oldenburg Vineyards Rondekop Per Se Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding red wine from the esteemed Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. Oldenburg Vineyards is located in a unique microclimate characterized by cool mountain winds and mineral-rich soils. The "Rondekop" line, named after the prominent hill in the center of the vineyard, stands for wines with exceptional terroir character and impressive depth.

The vines for this Cabernet Sauvignon grow on high, stony soils, which promote slow ripening of the grapes and ensure outstanding concentration. After selective hand-picking, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the fruit. The wine then matures for at least 18 months in French oak barrels, with a third of new barrels being used to give it additional structure, fine spice and elegance.

In the glass, the Rondekop Per Se Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself in a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by strong aromas of black plums and juniper berries, followed by licorice. On the palate, this Cabernet surprises with the finesse and elegance of structured yet chalky tannins and a lively acidity. Aromas of cardamom, lavender and laurel lend the wine spicy notes. Additional aromas of Kalamata olives, cherry tobacco and vanilla linger on the wonderfully long finish.

The Oldenburg Vineyards Rondekop Per Se Cabernet Sauvignon harmonizes perfectly with grilled beef, rack of lamb or braised game dishes. It also unfolds its full sophistication with mature hard cheese or dark chocolate with fine spicy notes.

Oldenburg Vineyards ist ein erstklassiges Boutique-Weingut, das kleine Mengen Rot- und Weißwein produziert. Das Weingut wurde 1960 gegründet und die Weinberge liegen in den Bergen außerhalb von Stellenbosch, dem sogenannten Banghoek Tal. Sie werden kompromisslos bewirtschaftet, um das Potenzial des großartigen Terroirs zu maximieren.

Vor der Kulisse atemberaubender Naturschönheit inspiriert die einzigartige Lage zu einem nachhaltigen Ansatz in den Weinbergen und bringt letztendlich spannende Weine hervor. Das Weingut verfügt über 55 Hektar eigene Fläche. Seit 2018 zeichnet sich Nic van Aarde als Winemaker verantwortlich.
