Der Peter Falke Pinot Noir duftet vielschichtig nach Granatapfel und Rhabarber. Dazu kommt eine feine, unterschwellige Würze. Am Gaumen trocken und elegant, mit großer Ausgewogenheit und weichen Tanninen. Vordergründige Aromen von Erdbeeren und, etwas mehr im Hintergrund, von Kirschen prägen das Aromenspiel des Pinot Noir aus der Stellenbosch-Region. Greg de Bruyn schreibt von „ansprechender roter Kirschfrucht, erdiger Mineralität und Geschmeidigkeit“. Durch den Ausbau in französischem Eichenholz zudem mit feinen, harmonischen Holztönen.  

Genießen Sie den reinsortigen Peter Falke Pinot Noir bei einer Trinktemperatur von 14 bis 15 Grad. 14 Monate reifte der südafrikanische Rotwein in gebrauchten französischen Eichenfässern (225 Liter). Wir empfehlen diesen Pinot zu gegrilltem Lachs oder Thunfisch. Auch zu einem Schweinefilet in Sahnesoße ist dieser Peter Falke-Wein eine sehr gute Wahl.

Das exklusive Weingut des deutschen Sockenfabrikanten Peter Falke liegt in der wohl bekanntesten Weinanbauregion Südafrikas Stellenbosch. Ende der neunzehnhundert sechziger Jahre startete Peter Falke eine Produktion in Südafrika. Ihm gefiel es so gut hier, dass er sich 1995 einen Traum erfüllte und seine eigene Farm kaufte. Die Farm namens Groenvlei wurde aufwendig renoviert und ein Boutique Weingut entstand darauf. Seine Frau Daniele ist Französin und Innenarchitektin, was auf dem gesamten Anwesen zu erkennen ist. Das Weingut Peter Falke Wines drückt in gewisser Weise den Lebensstil der Falke Familie aus. Nicht nur der Anspruch an höchste Qualität, sondern auch an Design und Genuss finden in vielfacher Form ihre Akzente. Unter anderen dokumentiert durch die nach dem Zufallsprinzip platzierten Korkenzieher in der Größe von Telefonzellen, die in das umgebende Grün gewirbelt wurden. Die Spitzen der Korkenzieher tragen das „PF“ -Emblem.

Die Weingärten sind dicht bestockt, der Ertrag pro Rebstock ist gering, aber die Anzahl der Rebstöcke pro Hektar ist höher als anderswo. Diese Methode ist in Afrikaans als „stokke“ bekannt und man ist bei Peter Falke Wines davon überzeugt, dass die Trauben von besserer Qualität sind. Dazu ist es allerdings notwendig die geeigneten Böden zu haben, was Peter Falke durch die Rebanlagen an den Hängen der Helderberge aber sicherstellt.
