Beautiful open chardonnay smell, the fragrance of exotic fruits, citrus, delicious pure in flavor, with warm butter.

An elegant palate with great finesse, some butter and caramel, citrus, mineral and fresh enough, pretty long in the aftertaste.

Great with a nice salad, like Caesar salad or salad Niçoise, fried plaice fillet, but also delicious with pieces of chicken.

Springfield Estate liegt in Südafrika in der Weinbauregion Robertson im Zentrum der südafrikanischen Halbwüste Klein-Karoo. Das Klima der Region ist heiß und trocken, bietet aber bei ausreichender Bewässerung aufgrund äußerst fruchtbarer Böden hervorragende Bedingungen, um Weine von beeindruckender, zarter Mineralität zu kreieren. Besonders für brillante Weißweine sind die Weingüter der Region Robertson bekannt.

Springfield Estate ist im Besitz der Familie Bruwer, die in der neunten Generation Nachkommen französischer Hugenotten sind. Den Durchbruch zur Spitze des südafrikanischen Weinbaus erreichten aber erst die heutigen Weinmacher um Abrie Bruwer.

Die Bruwers verwenden ausschließlich Trauben von eigenen Weinbergen, das Beste wird mit dem Namen Springfield ausgezeichnet. Springfield Estate steht für ein überragendes Qualitätsniveau, aber auch ein moderates Preisgefüge. Es ist eines der besten Weingüter Südafrikas für Weißweine, produziert aber auch hervorragende Rotweine.

This wine owes its name to the Red Stumpnose, an endangered fish species off the South African coast belonging to the family of sea breams.
