Quite deliberately the South African winery Thelema has not used oak for maturation of this Sauvignon Blanc. The fruitiness of the white wine is hence emphasized. A wonderfully refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, which offers aromas of grapefruit and melon on the nose. Balanced on the palate, light and invigorating.

Thelema Mountain Vineyards liegt hoch am Helshoogte Pass des Simonsbergs im weltberühmten Weinbaugebiet Stellenbosch in Südafrika.

Gyles Webb, eigentlich Buchhalter von Beruf, kaufte zusammen mit seiner Frau die ursprüngliche Obstfarm 1983 und begann in der Zeit Weinbau in Stellenbosch zu studieren. Der Erfolg ließ nicht lange auf sich warten, bereits Mitte der 90er Jahre waren seine Weine weit bekannt und er gewann zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen.

Bei Thelema Mountain Vineyards sind rote Weine mit Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot sowie Shiraz und Cabernet Franc vorherrschend. Weißweine der Spitzenklasse von den Sorten Sauvignon Blanc und Chardonnay gehören allerdings auch zum Repertoire.

Barbara und Gyles Webb leiten heute das Unternehmen Thelema Mountain Vineyards. Zum Unternehmen gehört seit 2002 auch ein zweiter Weinberg im Elgin Valley, wo die Marke Sutherland Vineyards produziert wird.
