Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon

The Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich, opaque plum colour with a red rim. The nose shows intense notes of cassis, cherries and cedar with underlying hints of toasted oak, lead pencil and mint. The redwine finishes firm and dry with a lingering taste reminiscent of fennel and mocha.

Das Weingut Tokara umfasst insgesamt drei Weinbaugebiete. In Stellenbosch befindet sich das erste Gut von Tokara. Hier begann die Erfolgsgeschichte des Weingutes auf den südlichen Hängen des Simonsberg. Das Gut liegt am Helshoogte Pass, nur ca. fünf Kilometer von der Stadt Stellenbosch entfernt, dem Zentrum des südafrikanischen Weinanbaus. Das Weingut bietet einen spektakulären Blick über die False Bay, Stellenbosch und den ganzen Weg bis zum Tafelberg.

Im Distrikt Elgin liegt das zweite Anbaugebiet: Highlands. Auf dem Kogelberg Mountain, mehr als 400 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel, reift vor allem Sauvignon Blanc zu einer hervorragenden Qualität heran.

Im Hemel-en-Arde-Tal, nahe dem malerischen Küstenort Hermanus schließlich befindet sich Tokaras Anbaugebiet Siberia, gelegen auf den kühlen südlichen Hängen des Babylonstoren Mountain, knapp 300 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel.

Alle drei Anbaugebiete sind geprägt von einem kühlen Klima sowie sandigen Lehmböden und tiefroten, fruchtbaren Böden. Diese außergewöhnlichen Bedingungen geben Tokara die Möglichkeit, unverwechselbare, charaktervolle Weine zu kreieren.

Geleitet wird Tokara von Richard Carstens, dem die Winemaker Meilen Mossop sowie Aidan Morton zur Seite stehen.

Chateau Reverdi Cru Bourgeois
Dieser ausgezeichnete Cru Bourgeois aus der Appellation Listrac, am linken Ufer der Gironde, ist seit dem Jahre 1953 im Besitz der Familie Thomas.Seinen Charakter erhält Château Reverdi durch den für Listrac hohen Cabernet Sauvignon-Anteil, der die Hälfte der Assemblage ausmacht. Merlot, Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot ergänzen das Cuvée, das man als klassischen Médoc-Wein bezeichnen darf.Eine 15-18 monatige Faßreife verleiht dem Wein zusätzliche Struktur und Kraft, wobei das Holz nie dominiert. This wine has a deep dark inky garnet colour with a touch of red brick evident on the rim. This is an intensely complex wine with intense dark berry fruit and crème de cassis notes on the nose. There is an inky heady dark character on the nose reminiscent of dark chocolate, cardamom spice and roasted fennel bulb. Always evident on this wine and a hallmark of every vintage is the hint of Eucalyptus or mint. The palate is full and rich mirroring most of what is evident on the nose.
