Ein erstklassiger Zweitwein: Der Belondrade Quinta Apolonia ist sozusagen der kleine Bruder des berühmteren Belondrade y Lurton. Was aber Qualität und auch Beliebtheit angeht, ist der Abstand zwischen diesen beiden Spitzenweinen aus Spanien nicht groß. 92 Punkte in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate für den Belondrade Quinta Apolonia im Jahrgang 2023 sind ein deutlicher Fingerzeig, dass dieser reinsortige, junge Verdejo ein wunderbares Geschmackserlebnis ist.

Der spanische Weißwein duftet anregend nach Pfirsich und Aprikose, dazu Noten von exotischen Früchten wie Litschi und Maracuja. Im Hintergrund florale Nuancen sowie unterschwellige Anklänge von Zitrusfrüchten. Weinkritiker Luis Gutiérrez schreibt im Wine Advocate von einer „ausdrucksstarken Nase mit Pfirsich und Lorbeer, dazu etwas Rosenblätter, ein wenig exotisch mit Noten, die an Moscatel oder gar Gewürztraminer erinnern“.

Am Gaumen ist der Verdejo trocken und angenehm weich, mit kraftvollen Aromen und zugleich einer eindrucksvollen Frische. Die Ausgewogenheit von nuancierter Frucht, feiner Säure und hintergründigen Eichenholz-Aromen machen den Belondrade Quinta Apolonia zu einem kleinen Fest für die Sinne. Der Weißwein hallt noch länger nach.

Der goldgelb strahlenden Verdejo von Belondrade, etwa 180 Kilometer nordwestlich von Madrid im Anbaugebiet Castilla y León gelegen, wurde zu einem Drittel im Barrique fermentiert und zu zwei Dritteln in Edelstahl und Beton. Genießen Sie den Belondrade Quinta Apolonia, von Didier Belondrade nach seiner älteren Tochter benannt, bei einer Trinktemperatur von 8 bis 10 Grad. Viel Freude beim Entdecken!

In der Zwischenzeit wurde der 26zigste Jahrgang des Belondrade y Lurton hergestellt. Auch der aktuelle Jahrgang zeigt wieder die ganze Kunst des Weinmachens von Belondrade. Mit etwa nur 100.000 Flaschen immer noch eine überschaubare Produktionsmenge ist dieser Weißwein aus Rueda bereits weltweit etabliert. Auf insgesamt 23 biologisch bewirtschafteten Parzellen des Weinbergs Quinta San Diego wachsen die Trauben für diesen außergewöhnlichen Wein. Der Belondrade y Lurton überzeugt durch ein vielfältiges Aromenspiel in der Nase. Am Gaumen herrlich frisch und elegant. Ungewöhnlich für einen fassgereiften Verdejo ist die unverwechselbare Typizität nach exotischen Früchten und cremigen Holznoten. Schöne Balance zwischen Frucht und Gerbstoffen mit einer weichen, aber festen Struktur. Die moderate Säure verleiht dem Belondrade y Lurton eine anhaltende Komplexität, die im Abgang mit einem süßen Schmelz endet.Der Belondrade y Lurton passt hervorragend zu kräftigen Salaten oder leichten Fischgerichten. Wir empfehlen den Wein nicht zu kalt zu genießen, sondern bei 10-13 °C. Lassen Sie ihn kurz vor dem Genuss noch ein wenig atmen.

Duas Quintas Douro Clássico Tinto - Red

Bright grenadine in colour with shades of violet.Mature aroma of forest fruit, blackberries, cherries, figs and cistus, with a floral hint. Smooth and fresh on the palate, with the length and expressive aromas characteristic of an Upper Douro wine.Handpicked grapes in 150-kilo crates, pressed, destalked and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Maceration continues for long enough to produce a wine with the desired body and structure. Following malolactic fermentation in vats, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and the rest remains in the steel vats. The wine is bottled 18 months later.Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with soups, starters and salads. Also particularly recommended with dishes of fowl: roast chicken, duck risotto and quail, and with soft cheeses.

There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle. Enjoy the Aalto with a lovely beef roast or simply on its own in front of the fireplace.

Anima Negra AN/2

Mallorca’s autochthonous grape varieties Callet and Manto Negro and a smaller percentage of Shiraz unite to create the AN 2. This outstanding red wine, produced by Anima Negra, offers intense notes of red berries in its bouquet, along with fine wood aromas and nuances of vanilla. The AN 2 is wonderfully fleshy, sumptuous and very fruity on the palate, with a lovely spice and an extremely long finish.It matured for 12 months in barriques (70% made of French and 30% made of American oak), of which 35% were new and 65% were barrels with a maximum of three fillings. The deep cherry-red wine is a worthy ambassador for Mallorca’s viticulture. You can look forward to a real taste experience that has already convinced wine critics all over the world.

Barahonda Barrica Monastrell Syrah DO

The Barrica Monastrell Syrah comes from the Barahonda winery in the Spanish wine-growing region of Yecla. The blend consists of 75% Monastrell and 25% Syrah. The vines of this red wine are 40 to 45 years old and grow on calcareous soils at an altitude of between 500 and 800 meters. The Barahonda Barrica Monastrell Syrah has a ruby red color that shines bright and clear in the glass. The nose reveals an intense bouquet of ripe fruit, spices, light vanilla notes and some cedar wood. A strong minerality dominates the palate. A wine full of juice and power with notes of pepper and cloves. Matured in French and American oak barrels for a period of around 6 months, the finish is strong and round with a taste of vanilla and some leather.Try the Barahonda Barrica Monastrell Syrah with roast poultry, minced steak or paella. Also a very good choice with medium-strong cheese.

The Pio Cesare Gavi DOCG is an Italian white wine made from 100% Cortese grapes. The Pio Cesare winery, which has been in the family for five generations, has been producing outstanding red and white wines in Piedmont since 1881, taking care to treat the vineyard with the greatest possible care, with minimal intervention in nature. The excessive attention to detail even goes so far that no seasonal workers are used, but for reasons of continuity only experienced workers are employed, even during the harvest.This dedication is evident in the Pio Cesare Gavi DOCG. Château Charmail Haut-Médoc AOC 2018

Château Charmail is known for producing wines that very often score significantly higher than their price would suggest. Charmail, classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, was taken over by Oliver Seze in the 1980s and underwent a "horse cure" of renewal until the wines once again reached the level of the terroir on which its vines grow. As a neighbor of Sociando-Mallet and Phélan-Ségur, the Gironde is not far away and the wine is now one of the best in the Haut-Médoc. Seze is still active as a consultant, but has handed over the vineyard to Bernard d'Halluin and his daughter Marie.2018 is the first year of the "dream trilogy" 2018, 2019 and 2020, which produced outstanding wines in the Bordelais. The cuvée consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.The appeal of this wine lies in its creaminess and fine fruit, with underlying sweet aromas. Blue and black berries, cassis, tobacco and chocolate delight the nose. Silky on the palate, with a medium-full body, toasty notes from the wood, which do not dominate, and polished tannins. The finish is long lasting.This elegant and balanced Haut-Médoc is already ready to drink, but only after about an hour of decanting. However, it should still have a span of at least 15 years ahead of it, provided it is stored properly, of course.The 2018 offers a great drinking experience at an excellent price-performance ratio. The Catena Chardonnay combines the unique expressions of three high altitude vineyard sites. The La Piramide vineyard offers rich pineapple, passion fruit flavors and aromas with a touch of sweet honey with a rich mouthfeel. The Domingo vineyard lends notes of citrus fruit with floral notes and excellent acidity. The Adrianna vineyard contributes green apple, pear and fig flavors with a strong mineral component and vibrant acidity.The wine shows a light yellow color with marked greenish tones.
