Codorniu Cava Cuvee 1872 Rose Brut

This salmon-colored blend of the grape varieties Monastrell, Garnacha and Trepat offers a fine perlage and aromas of red berries, black currants and passion fruit, enhanced by hints of puff pastry.

Codorníu ist heute der weltweit größte Produzent von in der Flasche fermentiertem Schaumwein, der nach der traditionellen Champagner-Methode hergestellt wird. Dieser spanische Schaumwein aus der Region Katalonien wird Cava genannt. Das Unternehmen besitzt mehr als 6.000 Hektar Rebfläche und produziert jährlich 60 Millionen Flaschen. Die Trauben, aus denen die Codorníu Cavas bereitet werden, kommen ausschließlich aus den Codorníu eigenen Weinbergen oder werden über Winzer bezogen, die durch eine lange Tradition mit dem Hause verbunden sind.

Die heutige Codorníu-Kellerei in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia wurde von Josep Puig i Cadafalch im Auftrag von Manuel Raventós in den Jahren 1895 bis 1915 gebaut. Damals produzierte Codorníu gerade einmal 100.000 Flaschen Cava pro Jahr. Die besondere Qualität von Codorníu Cavas liegt mit daran, dass auch heute noch der gesamte Herstellungsprozess aller Cavas vom Weinbau bis zum fertigen Produkt genaustens überwacht wird.
