Corimbo

CORIMBO, 100% “Tinta del País”, (the local term for tempranillo), the result of sustainably grown gobelet vines from the area around La Horra and Roa (Burgos), with an ageing time of 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

The colour is very deep red on a cherry coloured background, with bluish red-cherry hints around the rim.

The aroma is very expressive and intense with a fruit character over a touch of oak. On the nose, black and red fruit (for example, cherry and blackberry), a sensation of freshness, hints of aromatic herbs and plants, earthiness, cocoa, and a final summer pine warmth. On the palate, it is full, well-structured, with abundant fruit and freshness.

In short, a most enjoyable Ribera del Duero with personality and class.

Bodegas RODA has diversified into Ribera del Duero. After twenty years’ experience in D.O.Ca Rioja, RODA wanted to apply its knowledge and experience to a diversification into D.O. On the nose, it is heady but elegant and pleasant, with plenty of ripe black fruit such as plum and blackberry. In addition, mineral hints and quality sweet spices combine with black chocolate, ripe fruit and plum kernel. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with a powerful and refreshing back taste of medicinal herbs and pine. Top quality tannin with an excellent finish of very ripe black fruit, cocoa and fresh herbal hints. Bodegas RODA has diversified into Ribera del Duero. Barón de Ley Reserva
Barón de Ley Reserva Is made from grapes coming from our own vineyards in Mendavia (Rioja Baja). The climate in this part of Rioja, with clear Mediterranean influence, provides excellent maturations which, combined with a low yield viticulture (5.000 kgrs/Ha. aproximately), result in modern Riojas with a “mediterranean soul”; wines with combine remarkable power with the elegance and harmony that have always been characteristic of the Rioja wines. The wine was aged for 20 months in new american oak casks, and afterwards 24 months in bottle until arriving to its ideal moment for enjoyment. This wine has not been submitted to filterings or artificial stabilizations, which might result in the appearance of natural sediments in the bottle. With an attractive red ruby coulour with medium-high intensity, in the nose it suprises for a powerful fruit remarkably blended with traces from its noble ageing: coconut and toffee, evolving into seductive nuances of spices and mediterranean bush. The attack is truly powerful and develops in the mouth a pleasant sensation of volume and onctuosity with drives us to a long finish, nervous and fresh due to its optimum acidity, and bringing back an aftertaste with red fruits and again mediterranean bushes.

Matsu El Picaro
The Matsu El Picaro comes from the wine-growing region of Toro in northwestern Spain. This young wine is a pure varietal Tempranillo, which is known as Tinta de Toro in the Toro region. The grapes are biodynamically cultivated. The wine is an intense purple in the glass. Its bouquet is characterised by persistent aromas of black fruit such as blackberries or bilberries. The mineral notes are wonderfully fresh and complex, surrounded by a light sweetness. Fruit and fullness predominate on the palate as well, resulting from the ripe grapes. Despite its youth, the wine is extremely full-bodied and powerful, due to the ageing in French oak casks and the fact that aggressive filtering and clarification were deliberately avoided. The Matsu El Picaro is vegan and a marvellous delight to enjoy on its own but is also a good accompaniment to moderately hearty dishes.

Roda DOC Reserva
An excellent vintage in the wine-growing region of Rioja and an outstanding Roda wine. This blend, consisting of  93% Tempranillo, a 3% of Graciano and a 4% of Garnacha, has a wonderful bouquet offering notes of sweet cherries, black fruit and nuances of Mediterranean herbs, complemented by perfectly integrated oak aromas. On the palate, the deep red Roda DOC Reserva is sumptuous and full-bodied. Initially, the wine is very fruity, showing an enormous balance and fine tannins. Its finish is once again characterised by a great, fresh fruitiness. The grapes come from bush vines that are more than 30 years old. These vines are cultivated without wire trellis training systems. The wine matured for 14 months in barriques, of which 40% were new and 60% were second-fill barrels. Afterwards, it was aged for another 30 months in the bottle. Luis Gutierrez writes in the Wine Advocate: ‘This wine has the potential to become a real bestseller.’You’ll want to discover the Toda DOC Reserva with moderate or hearty stews with chicken or beef, for example. This wine is an exemplary Rioja.
