Muga Reserva Seleccion Especial Rioja DOCa

The Muga Reserva Selection Special unites notes of black fruit, balsamic nuances and a fine spice (white pepper) in its wonderfully multi-layered bouquet. The bouquet is complemented by roast aromas, hints of coffee and a fine minerality. This elegant blend, consisting of Tempranillo and smaller percentages of Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano, is velvety and silky on the palate, with noticeable but wonderfully integrated tannins, a remarkable freshness and a lovely acidity. The finish of this full-bodied wine is long-lasting.

The Muga Reserva Selection Special matured for 26 months in oak casks. It is a wonderful accompaniment to grilled red meat and lamb.

Bodegas Muga

Product recommendation

Muga Reserva Rioja DOCa
The Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano grape varieties unite here to create the wonderful Muga Reserva Rioja. This red wine is redolent of blackberries and fennel, complemented by fine roast aromas and lovely nuances of vanilla, coffee and white chocolate. The Rioja is impressively full-bodied and aromatic on the palate, offering the fruitiness of berries, hints of menthol and an elegant acidity. The finish is long-lasting. The Muga Reserva Rioja matured for 24 months in oak casks (medium toast) and for at least another 12 months in the bottle. Try this Rioja with veal, cold cuts (pork) or rather hearty stews, for example. The wine is also available in 1.5- and 0.375-litre bottles.

Roda Sela
The Roda Sela has a deep, red colour with bluish red hues throughout. In the nose there is a very expressive red fruit bouquet, especially ripe red cherry, with a nutty edge reminiscent of almonds and broken cherry bones. The wine is medium bodied, with scant presence of the oak adding to the feeling of lightness and freshness it provides. On the palate it is silky smooth, medium bodied, very fresh, well textured with no troughs. The oak is hardly evident, with round, well integrated tannins, giving way to a lingering finish of seasoned red fruits that make it light and fresh.  In this case Iadding youth and freshness to the depth and ripeness of the seasoned fruit so prevalent in this vintage.

Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja DOCa
Only a few wines are awarded an impressive 96 points: The Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja is one of them. Initially, the wine is redolent of red berries such as raspberries, fine spice aromas (cinnamon) and nuances of toasted wood. The bouquet is subsequently enriched by hints of cedar, vanilla and autumn leaves. The Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja is young and fresh on the palate, with a balanced acidity, fine tannins and a great elegance.Luis Gutiérrez is full of praise for this wine in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: ‘It has very healthy and balanced parameters, and that's what the wine feels like. It’s still young. It's never a dark wine, more of a ruby or bright colour, and it has a nose of youth, subtle and elegant. But the quality shows in the unbelievable elegance and harmony on the palate, where the tannins are very fine, the flavours are subtle but deep and the length is just phenomenal.’Eighty per cent Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and smaller percentages of Mazuelo and Graciano unite here in outstanding interaction. Each grape variety was separately aged in wooden casks. The Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja matured for 36 months in French oak casks. You’ll enjoy discovering a red wine that ranks among the top wines of the world.

Langmeil 'Valley Floor' Shiraz
The Barossa Region is known for its viticulture and wine making. At its heart is the valley floor, a rich strip of land exposed to the driest conditions and home to some of the most select Shiraz vineyards of the area. The ‘Valley Floor Shiraz', like other premium wines of the Barossa, is a regional blended wine. Grapes are sourced from specially selected vineyards across all the sub regions of the Barossa from a range of different aged vines, select parcels of which are then open fermented and basket pressed to make this classic example of honest, hand made Barossa Valley Shiraz.
