Charles Smith Boom Boom! Syrah

Sure, many will consider it daring to design a wine label bearing a bomb. But that's Charles Smith - always going to extremes. With the Boom Boom! Syrah (Shiraz), ‘image’ is the name of the game. The label was designed by the Danish artist Rikke Korff and is meant to express what awaits wine lovers: a powerful and intense red wine. The wine comes from the American state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest. It is a dark cherry red in colour. The Boom Boom! Syrah (Shiraz) has a wonderful bouquet offering notes of wild berries, lavender, vanilla and white pepper. This red wine is extremely rich on the palate, showing lots of power. Thanks to the well-integrated tannins, the fleshy fruit aromas remain in the mouth for a long time. This interaction continues unabatedly in the finish. The Charles Smith Boom Boom! Syrah (Shiraz) is ideal for those who love powerful and intense wines.

It goes wonderfully with grilled dishes, roast meat with dark sauces or hearty cheeses such as Blue Stilton and Roquefort.

Boekenhoutskloof Syrah
The Syrah shows intense depth of fruit with delicate texture and well-integrated tannins. The nose is explosive with black fruit, raspberries and hints of blossom. A spicy, aromatic profile develops with some age.The elegance and texture of this wine make it extremely accessible at an early stage.

Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling
What are you supposed to think when you first have a look at the bottle’s label and then read the wine’s name? It’s quite extraordinary and perhaps even a bit crazy, isn’t it? But that’s Charles Smith - extroverted and uncompromising in everything he does. He engaged the Danish artist Rikke Korff to design the labels. She was asked to visualise the martial art, Chinese food and his preference for Riesling wines. The Kung Fu Girl Riesling comes from the state of Washington, north of California. This part of America, with its sunny days and cool nights, offers ideal conditions for Riesling wines. This modern white wine is clear and instantly accessible. Its mineral character and an excellent balance of fruit and acidity make it a pleasure to drink. The Kung Fu Girl Riesling is a light yellow with slightly green glints in colour. The medium-dry wine is redolent of light peaches, mandarin oranges and apricots. A fine minerality and a decidedly pleasing freshness predominate the palate.Try this elegant Riesling with steamed fish, sushi, Indian dishes or grilled, sweet-and-sour poultry.

19 Crimes "The Banished“ Dark Red
The wines of the19 Crimes line cast a spell over every connoisseur: they recall people convicted of crimes in Britain who were exiled to Australia beginning in the late 18th century. The 19 Crimes "The Banished - Dark Red" from South Australia offers notes of grape jam, blackberries, plums and baking spices in its wonderfully multi-layered bouquet, along with harmonious aromas of dark chocolate, oak and vanilla. This blend, consisting of Grenache and Shiraz, is full-bodied and pleasantly round on the palate, showing lovely fruit and spice. The red wine was aged in American oak casks and has a long-lasting finish. This wine leaves a distinctive impression, like the former convicts, who in many cases didn’t succumb to despair but had a formative impact on a country that was new to them. The winemakers themselves write, ‘It would be a crime not to drink this wine.’Augmented reality - Hear their stories With the augmented reality labels, you can listen to the criminals tell their stories, provided that you’ve already downloaded the free app from iTunes or the Google Play store.
