The Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros is a Chardonnay produced in the Burgundy style and comes from the wine-growing region of Carneros located north of Sonoma, California. All of the wine matured in wooden casks. Subsequently, it was aged for 12 months in French and Hungarian oak casks, of which 25% were new French oak barrels. The Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros is a beautiful honey yellow in the glass and is redolent of very sweet apples, marzipan and peach blossoms, underpinned by notes of pears and lemon, complemented by nuances of vanilla and spices. The medium-bodied wine bathes the palate with a pleasing balance. A clear, fine acidity gives the Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros a wonderful finish. We recommend enjoying this excellent Chardonnay from California with fish, white meat with butter or cream sauce or ripe cheeses.

Das historische Weingut Buena Vista in St. Helena, Kalifornien, ist eines der faszinierendsten Weingüter. Sein Gründer „Graf von Buena Vista“, Agoston Haraszthy, war ein Pionier.

1840 emigrierte er an die amerikanische Westküste und machte sich auf die Suche nach dem „violetten Gold“ und dem perfekten Terroir für außergewöhnliche Weine. Er ließ sich schließlich in Sonoma nieder und gründete im Jahr 1857 die Buena Vista Winery. Agoston Haraszthy war ein Mann mit vielen Talenten: experimenteller Unternehmer, brillanter Geschäftsmann, Winzer und angesehener Autor. Der selbst ernannte „Graf von Buena Vista“, war ein lebhafter und exzentrischer Pionier mit einer wahrhaften Liebe und einem unendlichen Engagement für kalifornischen Wein.

Heute wird die Legende unter der Vision von Jean-Charles Boisset weitergelebt. Er und seine Familie, die eine wahre Liebe und Respekt für Buena Vista hat, setzt sich leidenschaftlich dafür ein, die fantasievolle Vision und das unvergleichliche Erbe fortzusetzen, das vor mehr als 150 Jahren begann.
