Fumé Blanc: It's Sauvignon Blanc - and so much more. ... This wine is one of Robert Mondavi’s outstanding creations. The Napa Valley Fume Blanc is an exceptional taste experience.

The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon is really energetic and full of vigor. The wine has a clear, straw yellow color with golden shimmer. On the nose, notes of lemongrass, herbs such as sage and fine spice. On the palate, full-bodied and juicy, with flavors of yellow peach. The wine is round and supple, added a wonderfully refreshing acidity.

Parts of the wine aged for ten months in French oak barrels. Enjoy it as elegant aperitif or with canapés with smoked salmon, fresh pasta with seafood or goat cheese.

Robert Mondavi ist eine legendäre Persönlichkeit in der Weinwelt. Der Sohn italienischer Einwanderer setzte mit seinem Weitblick und seinen Qualitätsansprüchen Maßstäbe in der US-amerikanischen Weinwelt. 1966 gründete er die Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville im kalifornischen Napa Valley. Das sagenumwobene Anbaugebiet „To Kalon“ im Herzen des Napa Valley ist das Zuhause des Weingutes. Einige der weltweit faszinierendsten Cabernet Sauvignon und der unverwechselbare Sauvignon Blanc „Fumé Blanc“ stammen aus diesen Lagen.

Es zählt zu den Wesensmerkmalen des Weingutes, immer die neuesten Techniken anzuwenden und gleichzeitig die über die Jahrhunderte gewachsenen Traditionen des Weinbaus zu respektieren. Das Anbaugebiet „To Kalon“ wurde ursprünglich 1868 bepflanzt. 1966 war die Robert Mondavi Winery die erste neue Kellerei im Napa Valley, die seit der Prohibitionszeit gegründet wurde. Hier zeigt sich die Weitsicht des Weinbaupioniers Robert Mondavi.

Seine internationale Anerkennung führte zu einigen bemerkenswerten Kooperationen. Mit Baron Philippe de Rothschild entwickelte Mondavi die Idee und realisierte die Produktion des außergewöhnlichen Weins Opus One. 1979 erwarb Mondavi das Weingut Woodbridge im Anbaugebiet Lodi. Unter dem Label Twin Oaks werden die besten Weine von Woodbridge abgefüllt.

The blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon as well as small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec has a deep dark color. On the nose the wine is wonderfully diverse. It offers intense aromas of dark fruit, sage, bay leaf and fine nuances of black pepper.On the palate, savory and with a clear, harmonious structure. The freshness, density, complexity and the persistent finish make the wine an extraordinary creation.The new wine was drained and gently pressed into 92% new French-oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, assuring seamless integration of fruit and oak. Der Wente Louis Mel Sauvignon Blanc, benannt nach dem französischen Einwanderer Louis Mel, ist ein frischer, fruchtiger Weißwein. Die Sauvignon Blanc Setzlinge hat Louis Mel 1870 aus Frankreich vom Chateau d'Yquem mitgebracht und in seinen Weinbergen im südlichen Livermore-Valley (USA) wo die Schotter- und Lehmböden, dem Terroir des heimatlichen Bordeaux ähneln, angepflanzt.Die Trauben von den Nachkommen dieser Reben werden bei Sonnenaufgang geerntet, leicht gepresst und kaltgestellt. Anschließend werden sie in Edelstahltanks einer Kaltgärung unterzogen.Der Wente Louis Mel Sauvignon Blanc begrüßt mit frischen Aromen von Feuerstein und Guaven. This high-quality Chardonnay from the Napa Valley is redolent of vanilla, caramel and honeydew melon, along with nuances of freshly baked apple pie. This white wine comes from coastal vineyards. It is very soft on the palate, with a balanced acidity and a rather creamy finish.
